If I end up on a forum with more posts than the Sharks get to their home games after fifty years please delete my account...

FYI the number of useless posts you make on a niche, almost unmoderated, forum doesn't give more weight to your opinion anymore than thinking that a person who spends all of their life on facebook, reddit, twitter knows what they're talking about.

But be my guest, keep piling on instead of addressing the generational issues with the Sharks. I'm sure it'll help fix the poor support, lack of sponsors & terrible ground.
Smell the butt hurt!

Unfortunately for you ,forget the 90s when many clubs were feeling the pinch and under threat.
"Sponsors are weak"do tell.'Fans are weak" because the stadium capacity ATM is 15K max. "Juniors will exist" on a greatly reduce basis as no incentive to play for your area."Weakest link" being in semis consistently LOL.'Have an asset base and own their ground.
Adelaide Sharks. They are struggling with juniors in a AFL besotted state.
St George area has become more multicultural and is not the rl area it was decades ago. That's why Wollongong is important for them. You are a Dragon's supporter it appears, you should know that.
The head of the NRL is fully aware of the tribal nature of the game ,something you appear to overlook. The NRL would not spend millions on hotel next to the Shark's field for the asset to be weakened by moving the club.
The only thing I established from your outburst.Your argument is p*ss weak. Know the area as it is now .I've been here for yonks and still here, been through all the crap that went on.
Well said on all that. The frustration I feel and a lot of League fans feel is that the comp keeps pushing forward. We're getting bigger events, better stadium and better crowds and yet we have the Sharks stadium getting worse.. crowds getting worse and despite a consistent team on the field.

So you have to understand that when the NRL is really flying and we turn on a Sharks game that looks more park football backdrop, that fans of the game feel frustration.
If it were that there's a new stadium under construction and we're expecting an improvement on x date, I think people would understand. But as it is, there seems to be ongoing issues.
I think everyone needs to direct their frustration towards who is responsible for this debacle and we should all be demanding immediate action.

I've spelt out capacity restrictions ATM that effects crowds.I've given you other responses as to the so called weaknesses the ignorant one put up.Beat the Storm tonight, the Sharks are really flying, well balanced cohesive team.
Shark's fans are frustrated on the delays with the Leagues club which when finished will increase the capacity. They are frustrated about not having the stadium up to scratch.Saying that the Storm brought no one tonight yet the game had more atmosphere than games in stadiums half full . I won't mention the clubs but you should know them

I'd make a humble suggestion before bagging a club whose only issue is a stadium update ,look around at so called bigger clubs some with stadiums they can't half fill ,whose junior numbers are meh, grounds not up to scratch ,teams performing poorly, need to be privately owned, have player & coach issues and demand immediate action. Not one of the other clubs with all the money swirling around own their own ground.

PVL knows potential hence the hotel purchase right next door. I trust his vision & knowledge of what's going on , than us keyboard punchers.
NB The bleeding pristine playing surface at Cronulla makes the Alliance surface in an expensive stadium look sh*thouse, now that's embarrassing & frustrating.

The post of mine that you're replying to only complaint was the ongoing inadequate facilities and the lack of clarity on when and what remedies are coming.
When will this end..? And what exactly are we to expect on completion?

The Sharks are great on the field!

That's what makes this worse!

If any other clubs in the league was performing as well as the Sharks, they'd be averaging 20k minimum and we'd be expecting a great home final with a big crowd and atmosphere to match.

As you guys cheer on your march to finals.. we all see another embarrassment coming for an otherwise booming NRL.

Gold Coast titans to Ipswich and cronulla sharks to central coast/adelaide/South Island New Zealand.

after 30+ years professional RL on the Gold Coast just isn’t working/hasn’t worked both on and off the pitch.

as for the sharks I can’t see how their “stadium“ is sustainable in the modern era.
Been meaning to make this post for a bit. Have finally found time.

A. The NRL won't (or definitely shouldn't) cede the Gold Coast to AFL. It's one of the fastest gorwing cities and will be 1 million+ in short order.

B. Even though on-field performance hasn't improved, there are a lot of exciting developments off the field that are setting the Titans up for improved attendances and connection to the city.

For the stadium, there are two main things that needed to be focussed on and they are slowly but surely being addressed. Amenities around the ground and Transport. The stadium itself is very good and only needs small incremental improvements over the next 20 years to keep pace with other stadiums + maybe look for a cheap way to get better airflow into the stands on hot days. Reassess around 2040 to see if capacity increases are needed and add an extra tier of seats, if needed up to 40k.

Amenities around the ground
The stadium was built on a greenfield site in the western side of the city. When it was first built there was only really cow paddocks around the ground. If people complain about nothing to do around the ground at Accor Stadium, this was multiple times worse. See below for what the area around the ground looked like in June 2008.

Since 2008, there have been a number of developments around the ground. See below for what it looked like in April of 2025. Still lots of development planned around the site:
Orange - Lakeview
Dark Blue - Cascade Gold Coast
Light Blue - Greenheart Robina Parklands
Purple - Was meant to be Olympic Village, but will be developed soon. Too prime a piece of real estate.
Brown - Paloma House development
Yellow - Can't seem to find info on it, but remember there being a development planned for here.
Red - Same for here
Robina 2025 Compressed.png
The density around the ground will invite more developments in terms of hospitality. Would love to see a mini Caxton street built between the station and the stadium, however unlikely. The Parklands only just opened in the last month or so. Great draw card for families and would love for the Titans to try to integrate it into gamedays (thinking South American Festival during Carnival, Markets on Sundays before games, get Bond University and Griffith University involved in Tailgates; similar to college football in America, etc.). Lots of opportunities to improve the overall gameday experience and increase the gameday experience from 2 hours to 4 or 5 hours. Also spreads out arrivals, which improves the transportation experience overall.

Transportation
Transportation is the area that is a bit slow going. As it is on the Gold Coast. Serviced quite in the rail corridor. Anywhere East of the stadium, requires walking and multiple changeovers of buses unless you're lucky enough to live next to one of few the event bus stations run on gameday. In the medium to long-term, light rail should hopefully run through to the stadium. Stage 3 of the Light Rail down to Burleigh needs to be completed first. Below are a couple of options for the route put forward.
Light Rail compressed.png

This would help immensly to connect the stadium to the eastern parts of the city. To give an idea, at the moment, it takes me 60 minutes (two buses) to get to Cbus. If this was built, it would take me around 20 minutes.

Ontop of this, they are building 3 new heavy rail stations currently, with the crossriver rail project. These stations will be in Pimpama, Hope Island, and Merrimac. This will increase rail access further for the Western Suburbs. Plus if they ever extend the Heavy rail from Varsity to the Gold Coast Aiport, the whole of the Southern Gold Coast will be covered quite well and will bring an extra 50k+ people within a 20 minute Train ride to the stadium.

All-in-all alot of improvement since inception with even more either planned or logically happening within the next 15-20 years. Just need the team to have a period of top 8 finishes and you will really start to see these improvements bare fruit.

I'm not going to rehash the rehash. Please inwardly digest.
All I am saying for any NRL fan to watch a game and spend any amount of time worrying about the stadium than what's being played on the field and ignoring embarrassing issues( including grounds) with other clubs ,says it all really.

Ya can't fit 20,000 into a ground that is limited ATM to 15K capacity.
It's like trying to squeeze an elephant's turd out of an impala.
Don't fear should the Sharks get into the G/F it will be packed as it was in 2016.
Bit of trivia to digest a billionaire $13.4B Mike Dorrell a long time Sharks supporter who runs a business Stonepeak(private investment fund mgt) in Wall Street N.Y. last year donated $5m toward the club for programs. He has been active in supporting the club.

Sharks can’t even squeeze 12k into a 15k capacity.

And how many dear Pom, in the NRL , have maximum capacity on deck at any of their games.
Like they do in the ESL .Oh wait.
You're trying hard but falling at the final hurdle .(14,320 against the Rabbitohs).Stick to warm Pommy beer.

Am I supposed to be impressed with a crowd of 14,320 for a top 4 NRL side?
