Is it time we get player names on the back of shirts?

Players name and his own number should appear on the back of jumpers. None of this #1 for fullback or #13 for lock. Lets the player pick his own number.

They tried it in 1997 with Super League. It looked crap. Sorry but just because the yanks do it does not automatically make it a good idea.

Our sport's jersey numbers do have some meaning to positions. I mean I looked at Wigan during the WCC and had no idea what positions half the players were playing when you see things like jersey #45 out there.

The NFL already has a system which gives players a choice of number but also helps fans determine his position.
