We are an absolute Rabble, lurching from one disaster to the next. Internal drama's, board squabbling, f**kwits like Fitzy and Roy sticking their bibs in doing everything the can to have a say no matter what the cost to the club.

No coach, no CEO of the leagues club or the footy team. We don't even have a media manager, Sharp seems like a decent man who loves the club but he has landed into a hornest's nest.

Is it time for the NRL to come in and take over this rabble??? Parachute someone into the CEO role elected by the NRL?? We just don't seem to be able to dig ourselves out of this mess. We need outside help, the League should do something they can't afford to have a weak Parramatta.

What about putting some sort of muzzle on the board? Can the NRL do that? And then the NRL can control the club until the board can sort its shit out and all unite.

I think the rich dude who wants to put the team out in WA should buy the NRL Franchise off the Leagues Club. Move the team to Perth.

This is a serious post by the way.

Well, the good news is it is now the off season (for all clubs missing out on the finals). How about we give Sharp the chance to appoint a new CEO, coach and associated staff, see where we are at with the playing roster and go from there?

If things don't improve next season I would be all for some NRL intervention.

This has been discussed on NRL360 a few times and Paul Kent has said that Dave Smith is well aware that clubs like ours, the W/Tigers and Raiders are bringing the game into disrepute.

Kent said that there is little that Smith can do under the current system, however it is his intention to:

  • stagger renewals so that clubs cannot hold the NRL to ransom. This means that they will provide tougher criteria to meet in the next round. A few teams will be granted extended agreements and some clubs will be offered only conditional renewals on a year to year basis. This means that clubs like ours will need to resolve specific governance issues if they want to be around long term
  • ongoing, clubs will not automatically qualify for 100% of the NRL grant. Again, you will need to meet strict conditions in order to get 100% of the cash.
Bottom line is that if you fail to run a good business in all aspects, then your club will wither on the vine by being starved for cash or worse, be refused a franchise for the following year.

In the meantime we're on our own and we need to stop the finger pointing and blame game and allow the current board to get on with the job that they have been elected to do. Those who think they could do a better job, should STFU until they get the opportunity to seek office.

Just on the elections, is it not obvious that having annual elections is working against us ? For the same reason that elections are 3/4 years on all forms of government, an extended term provides stability. Clearly we lack this right now.

So fix it Gronk.

Well said Gronk
If we lived in a perfect world, and of course we don't, I would like to see a guy with a business and football background of achievements -- like Peter Wynn for example -- get a team together from his business and football networks and present a strong case for his UNITED team to come on "BOARD".
It's not all doom and gloom because next year we will have the strongest squad we've had for quite a few years -- a blend of youth and experience.

No elections for either board for at least 15 months.
One more season of split Boards and off field leaks and drama before we get the chance to "sack a board" and cause further disunity and damage.

So fix it Gronk.

I've got an idea for a quick fix.

It involves Fitzy, Spags, two hooded men, a black van and dense bushland.

Has a team ever won three spoons in a row? If not stay tuned because in 12 months time it will happen.
I'm afraid Parra take the cake with 6 in a row from 56-61.

The other members of the 3+ spoons in a row club include Gold Coast 91-93, Newtown 76-78, and University 29-31 and then 4 in a row from 34-37.

Well we keep on changing coaches, boards, ceos and whatever the f*ck else every 12 months then i reckon we will give that 6 in a row a good push.

why would we need to bring in the NRL when they are the ones's who f!cked us over with the Falou signing and Schubert is still in his position.

If they think we are bringing the game into disrepute they also need to look at the journalists who they provide accreditation for. The AFL press look after their own better than our muck raking bottom feeders.

Appointing someone from the NRL like was done to the sharks will not make the club stronger as the appointees first interest will be the NRL's not the clubs. It will also push us into trying to achieve a quick fix which is where we have been since 2010. We need to improve the whole setup and let the results come through these improvements in time.
