Really depends on whether the Bronco's will release him. Not sure why they would pay $400K for a winger.

It would be very funny if Barba turns into a bust at the Bronco's, and Hoffman a gem for the Bulldogs. Have two teams sort of traded players in the one position like this before?

Good luck with that.

You guys are welcome to him. Hoffman has proven himself to be a perennial self entitled whinger. One sniff of Des wanting to move Morris to Fullback because he isn't performing well enough and Hoffman will crack the sads again.

I remember hearing about Hoffman being pissed-off about Barba coming on board, so if he's unhappy, he should at least give the Bulldogs a chance to see what they offer. He'll walk into our #1 position if you ask me, as Morris is a specialist centre, and the other positions are pretty well covered. I'd be happy with this...

1. Hoffman
2. Inu
3. Morris
4. Lafai
5. Perrett

Someone might want to argue that Inu isn't a wing, but I think he can play that position gracefully.

Inu is a better fullback than Hoffman, he just gets a bit lazy. I don't see why Morris isn't being given more of a go back there too - he was very impressive last year.

While Morris may be a solid fullback, he's an outstanding centre... why move him from his best position, where he can find the tryline, is my argument!

And Barba isn't a problem child himself? Please.

Both have issues, let's hope both find their feet at new clubs.

Inu is a centre, plays his best game at centre. Possibly even wing.

Morris is definitely a centre, and has said as much that he doesn't want the #1 jersey.

Holy f**k have you followed the career of Ben Barba? He walked off the field once mid game in NYC. He also nearly packed his bags cos he wasn't in first grade soon enough (and he wasn't ready TBH).

You described Barba more than Hoffman. I have never seen Hoffman run the ball at less than 100%. Wait til Barba starts submitting in tackles or passing the ball as soon as he gets it cos there is more than 2 defenders.

None of these young players are perfect but if you think Hoffman is any worse than Barba or a number of others then you are f**king deluded.

I'd be unhappy too if my coach was stupid enough to pick Corey Norman ahead of me

I kinda feel our team was stronger with that actually. Hoffman has the playmaking abilities of a sack of potatoes. Combined with the lack of talent in the halves, Norman was worth a try. Plus, he was actually a good winger in a side without any wingers.

Since the Bulldogs have less of a halves problem, I think he could go OK for you guys. Just don't let him get involved in any backline sweeps.

Actually the way the Dogs struggled this year with Barba being average shows that their halves rely on a fullback with some playmaking ability. Hoffman is a bad fit for the Dogs imo.

Hoffman doesn't hold a candle to 2012 Barba, but will be an upgrade on 2013 Barba. And the way our team is structured, we don't rely on our halves as much as the Donks did.

Go read the broncos forum from last year to this year. Every broncos fan knows Hoffman lacks ballplaying ability needed of a modern day fullback and stifles the attack in the opposition 20.

He is a good winger though.

That basically described half your squad last year.
