Is Kasiano the only bloke that didn't improve at the Storm?

That Fox article referred to him as a "Rotten Taumata". 😆

ARANA TAUMATA - The NRL’s ultimate bad boy. 7 NRL clubs – 14 NRL games.

A player with all the talent in the world, but makes Carney and Dugan look like choir boys.

Reportedly, former NRL CEO David Gallop was unable to sleep at night just thinking of the mischief Arana was getting up to.

Taumata left Windy Wellington for the bright lights of Brisbane at the ripe age of 15 in 2005. Wayne Bennett goes on the recorded as saying “I’ve found the next Wally Lewis”. But a year later, all bets were off and the Broncos became the first of what would ultimately be a long list, to punt Arana on disciplinary grounds.

The Sydney Roosters were the next to sign him up but also cut Taumata for a discipline breach.

The Bulldogs cut Taumata for allegedly breaking another mans jaw in an off field incident.

The then 20-year-old signed a Melbourne Storm contract under strict instructions that he was on his final warning. Even the Storm's exacting work environment under Craig Bellamy was unable to nurture the wayward Kiwi. He was sacked after a boozy night out ended with him throwing a punch at a punter at a Melbourne bar.

In 2009, Cameron Day a player manager who represented a number of NRL and Wallaby stars said, it was time for some tough love for Taumata, who he said had gotten away with numerous incidents in the past that have gone unnoticed by the media and NRL bosses.

According to Day, too many people away from football have been willing to turn the other cheek to his misdemeanours and not hold him accountable for his actions. “Some people think he's an angel. He's not. If he were going out with my daughter I'd shoot him”.

Just repeating in 2009 Arana’s manager said if he were dating his daughter, he would shoot him.

Moving on, Taumata also had brief stints with Tim Sheens and Benji Marshall at Wests Tigers and then embarked on an unsuccessful journey to Townsville, where he developed homesickness at the Cowboys.

Penrith offered Taumata a lifeline in 2011 and he grabbed it with both hands. That was until he took one hand off to steal a prescription pad.

That’s right, he stole a prescription pad from the Panthers club doctor's office and made a bungled attempt to obtain Valium from a pharmacy. He was placed on an 18-month good behaviour in court.

Arana in early 2013 then used up every bit of trust the club had in him, when he made a racist tweet towards My Kitchen Rules contestants Jessie Khan and Biswa Kamilla.

Ironically, Taumata announced his departure from the Panthers a few days later on Twitter. He said there were several reasons he was giving football away, at least for the foreseeable future, and said there was ''no support from the club … I felt let down in many ways.''

Even though Arana was more likely to end up in prison, than another NRL team, he continued to play footy in 2013 for the Wyong Roo’s.

Evidently, Arana couldn't be bothered turning up to training for the well respected Wyong Roo’s, so they also parted ways with Arana.

This story however has a happy ending. Arana now studying towards a business diploma and work at the Dollar Rated record label. If however he does chose to return to the NRL, we at MRLPOTNAT reckon he would be a good fit for the Knights.

We all wish him well.

Both Parramatta players who went to the Storm

some improvement imo

went from a turnstile as part of an edge that would concede 4-5 tries a game. At storm he throughly average but was a half decent defender

Brett Finch joined the club a lovable origin winning larrikin.

a couple years in their system and he’s a f**king kiddie fiddler

Some would say that going from being a Parra player to being a kiddie fiddler is a redemption story.

Not me, but some would.

Nate Myles went there while he was still fairly young (early 30's) and was shit.

I remember at the time the socials were in favour of this one, said that Bellamy and a winning team would get him back to his best, the big fella would dominate Origin once more rah rah rah.

From memory he played like 5 games, was very very average and then retired. Given how much hype it got online I'd dare say that Nate is the worst of the "Bring an old forward in and make him a gun again" players.
