7000 against the dogs . you really support your team?
lol.

Insightful first post from someone who prefers to keep their regular forum name a secret.

You do realise of course that the issue is to do with Homebush, and not the supporter base? No, probably not... it takes a while for news to filter through to the southern AFL wastelands.

If they move a club to Perth there would be no pokie tax as we only have the Burswood casino. How would the club survive? It would be great to see an NRL team over (but not the dragons)We currently run a team in the Jim Beam Cup (WA REDS) and are currently running Ninth.

Just curious, do many of you guys have mates that were St George or Illawarra fans, didn't support the merger and gave up supporting the team or rugby league in general after the merger?
I know a few from both sides.

St george fans was more of a disgust with Super League and the fallout from there. My uncle was a Saints man from the late 60's, but Super League drove him to AFL. God help the poor bloke.

I've met more than a few ex-Steeler's fans that are anti-Dragons supporters; they don't care who wins as long as it isn't the team that ate Stanley.

Guys i keep hearing stuff about the NRL reducing the amount of teams in the comp to be able to double grants and therefore pay players more money. (ideas they are looking at as options)

If this it to happen..........................................What would happen to us. Are we at risk of being relocated or even losing our licence?

The part owner of the Steelers is a billionare and I have heard he wants to relocate to Adelaide. Does he have enough pull in the NRL to win the fight. To top that off when the super league war started they wanted to relocate us.

Wouldnt it be better to have some teams relocate so we can have a greater TV coverage accross australia, therefore increasing the TV money coming in instead of killing off some teams.

There are some teams in the NRL that are srtuggling financially but i dont believe we are one of them. We have more season ticket holders in Sydney than most of the other teams.

I guess some discussion on this could help me sleep at night.:D

I don't think we'll be going anywhere mate and definitely not Adelaide. If they move the Dragons out of the Illawarra, South Coast/Southern Sydney then they will be jeopardising a junior rugby league heartland. I'm sure the AFL would be quite happy to jump right in.

If it is true that the part owner of the steelers is a billionaire , why are the steelers in financial trouble you would think he would help them out

I think he has helped them out before, only recently.

I'd heard that St George and the Steelers were both in financial difficulty, therefore the joint venture was in financial trouble. Perhaps a season where we are not spending the salary cap is what is needed, therefore we may not see any further signings next season. At the end of the day it's all speculation.
