Building and keeping a stacked roster is what makes him elite. It's not like he has bought too many established stars over his tenure. I've lost count how many times everyone thinks that the dominance is over for them to just keep on rolling. I hate the merkins as much as the next bloke, but there's no denying they are an elite operation top to bottom.

Hmm yes it's remarkable he hasn't had any shit teams despite rarely signing any established first graders from other teams. I wonder how that works (cheating aside, obviously). Who do you reckon makes them good? Maybe its the trainers.
