Ricky:The Movie has been in the pipeline for a while and already it’s looking like a winner. Working titles include “Hurts So Good” (with a soundtrack including the song of the same name.).

In the opening scene (tentatively titled “I’ve got the clap” ) , Ricky , with a glint in his eyes, chronicles the evolution of the Viking clap into arguably the most feared intimidatory weapon in world sport. “The opposition team is beaten before they take the field”. , he gushes. They know that when they come to Canberra they can’t avoid getting the clap. And they’re beaten before they come.

Other scenes include “The dash for Ash” where we discover that the infamous shoulder charge to Ashley Klein in the foyer of a UK hotel after the World Cup loss was a total misunderstanding. “ I thought I saw Grant Atkins standing behind Ash and it was actually meant for him. Anyway , the shoulder charge was legal back then”.

Other scenes include “Flying textas” and State Of Origin Blues (where Ricky bemoans the Raiders’ lack of origin players.)

A bulked up Ed Sheeran plays a young Cory Horsborogh , and adds to the soundtrack with a couple of originals including “Yearning for Yarralumla” and “Belconnen Blues”

Just to get some extra traction in the US market , Lizzy rounds out the soundtrack with a reworked version of Toni Basil’s “Mickey”. It goes: Oh Ricky you’re so fine , those *ucking textas blow my mind. Hey Ricky Hey Ricky.

Jarrod Salmon makes a cameo appearance and Adam Blair is being chased as we speak. Filming is set to conclude when Ricky leads the Raiders to their next title.

A thoughtful and circumspect Stick in last night’s presser. Did take credit for the prep including the successful Las Vegas campaign though. I dips me lid to the great one. Is this the “new Stick ?” Will find out the next time the Raiders get robbed .

A few Ricky Stuart facts

He has never lost a game he’s scored more points in
Every year since 2002 he has been one grand final win short of a premiership
When taking out all the games he’s lost over his coaching career he’s undefeated

You forgot one really interesting one.

Ricky Stuart has won more games as an NRL head coach than the Wests Tigers have won in their entire history.

I like the part where he said in his presser he wouldn't single out players, then singled out Zac Hosking as the buy of the year from 2024

But I love the Stick now, his passion is infectious. And he can coach.

Something strange has happened to the Raiders this year. I think I can explain it. When Jordan Rapana retired last year , he not only pulled the plug on his illustrious career but also the infamous Raiders’ communal football brain. The story goes that he somehow bypassed the security system at Queanbeyan leagues club(the same way he used to ghost through defensive lines), smashed the glass case surrounding the brain and unplugged it. And escaped unnoticed.

According to various sources ,during a farewell barbecue party at an undisclosed Sydney beach a former Raiders player(possibly Jack Wighton) threw a wayward cut out pass into the sea (apparently with the match all tied up). Despite Ricky’s frantic efforts to save it, the brain was lost forever. Or so we thought .

Since then the Raiders have looked ominous , albeit only 2 rounds in. Ricky has struck gold again while mining in the north of England. Big Papa dived at the try line against the Broncos like he was lunging for the last double cheeseburger at the local all you can eat. Strike on both edges. Speed to burn. Hudson Young and Corey playing out of their skins. Speed to burn. Crisp in career best form. No Taps or Savage. No worries.

How long will it last. Who knows? But if it does continue Raiders’ fans can strap themselves in. Because they’re in for one helluva ride.

There is very good potential all over the park with this club at the moment. It is a very young side.....they can go one of two ways. Start well and crash and burn by Origin or actually go on with it. Im not a Raiders fan but hope his plan brings about some success.

This is just the beginning of a glorious rise. Like a Phoenix.
Stuart and this young crop of would be legends are going to do something special, and even YOU, yes, YOU... the man sitting there hating on the great man, praying for his demise, even you will be swept up in the joy of it all.

Raiders win the comp, Stuart will finally rest and watch the sun rise on a grateful NRL universe as a universally beloved and respected figure.
Top 2! And he ain't 2!

The Raiders have an excellent crop of juniors coming through. They are a couple years off a premiership if they recruit well.

It's all about the spine. Ricky knows this.

Ricky also knows he can't develop halfbacks.
He's got a vastly underrated one right in Fogarty, who is at the top of his game right now.

Honestly, if the Raiders win this week, the sky is the limit for them. Cows, Sharks at home, Eels, Titans, Dolphins at home, then the real litmus test of the Storm in round 9.

Here's my prediction - the Raiders will be top of the table in Round 8. And they'll be in the 4 at season's end, unless they get injuries to key positions. They've got quality all over the park.
