No one talking about the Raiders 7th win in a row and almost certain minor premiership and everyone talking about Flanagan and Ricky's presser.

Ricky does it again. The master media manipulator.

Great coaching by Sticky this weekend. At halftime he pointed out that we were letting the Eels get away with a quicker ruck speed which is why they were breaking our line in the first half. We slowed them down in the 2nd half and strangled them out of the game.

8 in a row. 11 is the club record.

Just to clarify, career wise you can't argue against him, but I think Bennett was helped by the Broncos player personnel back in the day. Once the Storm, Cowboys and other clubs started grabbing more Qld players the results dropped off a bit. He then has jumped between clubs and times it well sometimes. Other times (Knights, current Rabbitohs) haven't been crash hot. The way the Dolphins have lifted this year makes me think he has relied alot of Woolf and before that Demetriou in the last decade. Possibly at the Knights he didn't have that support when he had to enjoy certain assistants.

If we are talking seriously about whether Bennet is over rated- probably not. He won a ton of things. He's won at different clubs in different decades. He's built part of the early Raiders success ('87 run) from bare bones and also enjoyed the luxuries of endless resources at other times.

I think he might have jumped the shark but he's probably rated about right. A decade ago I'd have jumped at Bennett coming back to coach the Raiders.

Bennett lost his last two grand finals by a combined three points.

Saints were near the best team in the comp for the two and a half years there before they didn't re-sign him.

It was never his job to set up a team for future success after he leaves to a competitor.

Just imagine this thread if Canberra actually do it

Humble pie will be served to the threadstarter by Raiders legend Jason Smith.

If it happens, Sticky would have ended 2 multiple decades long droughts (Roosters 27 years and Raiders 31 years). What other coach has ever done that?

Jack Gibson. Won with the Roosters in 74 breaking a 29yr drought for them. Then with Parra in 81 to get there first premiership (35yrs after forming). Still couldn't do the Sharks, something something porch light for harold holt.

So you're saying Sticky will be on the same level as Jack Gibson. Pretty good company that.
