Well military shark, seeing you watched the game & have singled out 1 player, I ask you this.
should Kimmorley be dropped?
& / or

should Vagana be dropped?

i think goldy is still our best option in his spot. beau scott would be the only other possibility but i'd stick with zeus.

are you ordering your cynical pills online millers ? they seem to be working a treat

You're not suppoosed to take them rectally Millers. ;-)

On topic, I think Goldy is best option we have at the moment, from what I've seen of Beau Scott he's good, but the broken hand rules him out, and I don't think Zeus has done anything wrong to warrent a stint in PL.

I think Ryan actually took a step up on Sunday and is warming up to the season ahead nicely.

On Covell, sorry Jimbo, that IS top speed mate, there are no more gears for him to change into mate. But he has a good wingers awareness and his lack of speed in the breaks is compensated for by his good ball security and field position, ie not getting stripped, dropping it or getting hoofed into touch.

They contribute far more to the team than McGoldrick however so there is a big difference. If we dropped either 3 of the above players mentioned ,would McGoldrick be missed more than Vagana or Kimmorley? Mind you they should be working harder on the defence there is no doubt about that.

McGoldrick probably still deserves his spot as no one has really put their hand up for the spot. And as the incumbent player McGoldrick hasn't done anything drastically wrong to lose it.

However if he wants to keep it during the year he'll have to start standing out more.

BTR: Do I think Vagana and or Kimmorley should be dropped.

ANSWER: No

Why would they need to be dropped ?
The difference between those 2 players and Mcgoldrick is that they have proven themselves in the past where ZEUS has not. So I feel a player should have the chance to play back into form however, how long do you give a player to get to a basic mark.

Having said that, I didn't say McGoldrick should be dropped, I asked if he was our best option.... #-o

You singled out Goldy with a thread & then commented about him being a defensive liability.
I asked you about vagana & Kimmorley because on the weekend, goldy missed 1 tackle. Vagana missed 4 & Kimmorley missed 5.
In fact vagana has missed 13 tackles this year. Goldy has missed 4.

BK has missed 17 & only played 3 games.

I think Covell showed good awareness on the weekend. Firstly nice take to score the first try timing his run to perfection, secondly whilst he may not be the fastest winger in the comp he showed he isnt one of the brain explosion type wingers. He got the intercept and realising he didnt have the pace he went infield looking for support and also not turning the ball over by being tackled into touch or throwing it away, therefore keeping the pressure on the dogs. Quite often a quick play the ball is better than a promising break that ends in us losing the ball.

Goal kicking also proving an added bonus !
Keep going the Sharkies !!

Spot on Milko.
I said to somebody last night, if covell was a super speedster, he would be the best footballer in teh NRL & we would not have been able to buy him.
All footballers have abilities & deficiencies & the best ones make the most of what they do best.
I dont care how fast Covell isnt because every other aspect of his game is first class.
I dont think he has been taken into touch this year.
he has caught everything, kicked everything & scored teh tries that maybe should not have been scored.
The Tumbulgum terror is on fire.

Don't worry Military Shark BTR is always trying to twist what people are saying.

The other day he was even insinuating that the referees were racists.
So i think he has issues.

BTR: A fullstop means the end of a sentence, not the end of the whole note.
What I went on to say was that Covell was slow but he made up for it in other ways. I also said/asked what was the upside to ZEUS's game ? I has seen he is a liability in defence but have not seen any "consistent" positives to his game.

You really need to stop taking peoples entries and turning them against that person and making the note personal. Either that or open up your mind to the notion that whilst BTR can regurgitate the stats really well from another website, he is not always correct when it comes to things that are not black and white.

I will not don my flak jacket and await your spray and insults and you saying how stupid I or anyone else who doesn't agree with your opinion is.

FOR ANYONE ELSE WHO CARES: Has Mellars been given a run in the forward pack ? If so how did he fair ?

I'm a big fan of Paul Mellor and when he is 100% fit I hope he is in the team.
If not centre than on the wing.
McGoldrick gives 100% every week. Sometimes he gives a bit too much. ;-)
Sometimes his 100% is good enough.
Sometimes its not.
Its good enough for now IMO.
