Is the McGoldrick the best centre we have available ?

So is Ryan playing PL or is he injured?
PL and very confused. Was in the team yesterday and out today. Has not been given a reason why -- just told he was gorrrrne.

Whilst I believe that is a good change, I believe that it is a DISGRACEFUL way of handling players. I was under the impression that in the days of professional football every player would meet with the coach to individually analyse performances.

I didn't think that players were dropped with no feedback on what improvements need to be made.

They should come on here if they want answers.
We'll tell them how their going.
eg
Simmo: How am I going?

Carch: like Shit.
------------------

Gallen: how am I going?

Carch: Like stink on shit. ( Thats a compliment )

simple.

BT - I take it you are one of Ryans mates? If what you have said about the way he was dropped is true, that is a poor reflection on Raper. I thought he was better than that. Makes you lose a bit of respect for him.

All the deathriders have got their way.
That is poor form by raper.

How the f**k can he drop McGoldrick and keep people like Simmons? I can't believe McGoldrick being dropped for Mellor :?

btw - Isurus.. Don't ask those kinds of questions. It doesn't matter.

bizzare!
Im not his biggest fan but he has it over simmons. Simmons still must be bringing Mr Raper a apple to training every day. He reminds me of Martin Prince on the Simpsons.

The problem with this kind of decision making and lack of communication is that there is no positive criticism , or outcome in dropping the player.

When coach Raper needs Ryan again, what chance does he have or bringing back a kid with low confidence and self esteem and no communication with the coach ?

If a player must be dropped, do it with a chat, areas to work on, and a belief that the player can make it back and is part of the plans for the future.

I agree black dot. Its not the decision that is most annoying (although I don't agree with that either), its the lack of communication between coach and player.

Disgraceful effort from the coach & in line with his inconsistent & erratic coaching methods.
First round there were calls for changes especially Lomu, as any soccer play could tell, he just didnt want to be there. Lomu stays for another 2 weeks.
He almost had to crowbarred out despite the msot appauling performances in
a sharks jersey in recent memory. Now we have a guy who has a couple of average games & hes gone in the blink of an eye, after a win.
But the msot average of all sharks players over the last 12 months, is still there out on the wing.

Unbelievable.

Anyway, this going to be tough for Goldy because Mellars is a favourite at PL & Scott is coming back & Ross is finding fitness. Aslo Goodwin is carving in Flegg. he might even find hiself on the outer in PL. He needs to get down there & be relentless. Not that its doing Merrit any good. Hes scoring 4,000 points a week & still cant shift (build the team around me) Simmo.

To get back Goldy has to have a look at his game, refine some things.

1. Arm tackles. No matter what the coaching staff are saying, they have to go. His career is at stake. Tell them to get fugged, I will tackle my way. Go & speak to ET.
2. Remove the anchor. the anchor that keeps him in that spot. He has to become more dynamic. Predict breaks like Gallens & get with him. Follow wingers after he passes. Stay on his toes & get with the play no matter which side or part of the field it happens on.
3. Take the niggle out of his game. If hes good enough, he doesnt need that.
4. he needs to watch a couple of DVD's for inspiration. help is on its way.

Makes you shake your head doesn't it.

Simmo has done nothing to deserve staying and McGoldy has done little to deserve going.

Yet it comes down to who you are rather than what you do. Again.

Seems like we had this same problem a couple of years ago but the surnames involved gave away the reason for the favouritism. Really don't know why it's there this time. I really struggle to see any justification.

I haven't seen last weeks game but before that he had one good game out of three.
Simmons has had 3 games that i have seen and while he improved a tiny bit against parra, his form doesn't warrant 1st grade.
So while I am in agreement that McGoldie needs some time in PL to better his offensive game, why oh why is Simmons still playing 1st grade.
This part of the decision to drop him must create complete bewilderment in McGoldy's mind.
So what he needs to do is to become a better favourite of Rapers because becoming a better player probably won't help him.
More and more of what Beat Beat said in Towny last year is becoming clearer in my mind.

Telll me who Mr genius raper expects to catch Bowen if he gets half a break?
At least Goldy had the pace to miss then turn & catch Utai. Who else in our back line will do that to Bowen?
Vagana?
Stumpy legs BK with 5-9 missedd tackles each week?
Dykesy?
Covell???? (Love the bloke though)
Peach?? Cant see the last line getting him if no other other club can.
Mellor? one knee, bit overweight?

Simmo!!!! The defensive & speeding deamon will save the day!!!!!

Must've been Stuey Raper who hammered Sharks Den Survivor with about a gazillion votes for McGoldrick then..
