Imagine you are from png and love rugby league

Then come on this forum and see Australians talking about your team and country like that

Troll all you want I find it funny but others might actually be offended and turned off

There’s 18 other nrl teams to focus on if you don’t like this one

And many of those are basket cases

TBF on PNG socials there's plenty of PNG folk who think the money could be better spent!

Are you saying the good folk of PNG are going to get upset because they didnt know corruption was rife in their country and its only just being brought to light by nasty Australians?

What vlad said before about opposition to the club having racist and colonial undertones

The govt money is under the control of the nrl

The clubs a reality

People need to move on if they don’t like the idea

Except there has never been opposition to warriors being in nrl.
Easy cop out, more likely it’s due to plenty thinking its a batsht crazy idea of a third world country rife with violent crime and corruption being in a first grade comp of another countries sport funded by a federal governments. But hey money talks.

Based on you’re collective batting average of zero this team is going to be a massive success

Not posting on the expansion. Forums does make this place much more pleasant to be fair I need to stop getting sucked in

So just because the NRL is managing the government money there won't be any corruption or wastage of the funds. I mean the Chairman of the new club didn't make it to the first board meeting as he had to step down due to the severity of allegations against him. And you would assume the NRL agreed with his appointment and also did some checking on his background.

While we have no say if the club goes or doesn't go ahead or whether it will be a success or not, you would be extremely naive to think people won't be lining their pockets with Australian taxpayers money and all the 600m will end up at the intended destination.

The bar for existing nrl clubs is so low it’s funny people gate keeping entry in

You’ve got clubs that have been basket case for pretty much decades ie tigers, dragons, titans, knights, raiders, eels, cowboys

Even the broncos got a wooden spoon on turnover of 90 million

When the broncos entered the nswrl comp they averaged around 15k in their first year and lang park was a dead set dump. Worse then any current suburban ground used in the nrl

Now they are the biggest rugby club in the world

Cowboys off the field have gone from a basketcase to a powerhouse

People should just chill and check in their pre conceived bias

If they are set up correctly it’s not even certain they don’t finish bottom either in their first year

This will be THE club for 12 to 17 million people

People wanting to debate their merits still when they will be an nrl club

I like that PNG are coming in but I still want you get a flight to Port Moresby.. I think a healthy dose of reality is in order.
Great to count the whole countries population ( even though nobody knows how many people live there)
But the team is in Port Moresby, that has a population of 400k .

The only real number here is 600 million. Once that's gone...there will be serious questions as to why the f**k we have a team there.

PNG hunters are being promoted from the same comp Redcliffe came from

Yeh if they let me stay In the athletes resort on the water I’ll be happy too

Hence why they are the team for all of png not just pm

And the other thing with the new tv deal the clubs will be gouging even more money

Something like salary cap 17.5 million v club grant 27.5 million

I don’t think png need the 290 million either

It’s a hell of a lot of money over ten years
