Lol, no-fkn body on here on here has ever rated White or Cross or Hoffman or Kidwell or Johnson but now your making out like he played with the greatest pack of all time

Certainly if I lined them up against the likes of Heighington, Ellis, Fulton, Teo, Galloway etc I know the players twits like yourself would choose, in fact id probably choose them as well individually, but this just highlights that Cam is THE MAN and no other 9 comes close.
No, just the greatest pack money could buy. Ellis aside, the forwards Farah has had are nothingh more than the next generation of forklift drivers and brickies labourers that have worn Balmain and Magpies jumpers for years. Blokes like Kyle White, Bruce Gibbs, Kerry Hemsley, Martin Marsella - incapable of anything more complex than reading a form guide while preparing the White Ox for a roll your own. Skando, Heighington et-al - the sum of their life outside footy would be mastering the sublime art of unloading a semi.

Balmain had their fair share of wonderforwards, but before Gareth the pom - the last decent forward to play for Wests was the legendary John "Dallas" Donelly - and of course Mick Liubinskas.

In contrast, Melbourne's annual wage bill for Manu, Blair, White, Hoffman, Johnston, Croker, Cross et al would exceed the entire wages bill for every forward ever to play for the Magpies since 1908 - and I am dead set serious on that one.

People do rate Kidwell and Hoffman though. You guys also have Slater, Cronk, Inglis, Blair, Lowrie, Manu, Tolman etc etc. Don't play that 'oh you guys also have this...' game when you barely even know your own squad. Pfft...If Storm were just made up of White, Cross, Hoffman, Kidwell or Johnson they wouldn't be cheating over the cap would they?

Get that head out of fantasy land and come back to reality. I think it's a fair call to say that Smith would struggle to produce consistent displays from dummy half if he were in Farrah's position.

And a host of other Queenslanders who want to infiltrate the "Farah is consistent" thread with their Smith bullsh*t. Who f*cking cares about Mr Grapple?

Did you actually read this thread before posting? Obviously insecure Tigers supporters.

Farah was hard done by to get dropped before Origin 3 last year and deserves another crack. However, he still has a long way to go if he wants to claim the best hooker in the world's throne.

Also, nobody rates Hoffman haven't you visited the Origin board? Kidwell has to be one of the most inconsistent players in the past decade. It really was rocks or diamonds with him.

The rest of the pack either came to Melbourne s**t or are merely solid. Their true spark comes out wide...or at least it did.

Smith will have a dreadful season next year and will probably lose his Australian jersey. Or at least have sensible non-selector people calling for it to be so.

Time will tell. He's got a long way to go before being put in the same category as Steve Walters or Benny Elias. Yes Benny was/is a fool but he changed the way hookers played as did Boxhead Walters. I rate Farah but he's got to do it at rep level.
He will don't worry, his efforts at origin level will assure him of that.

I agree with your arguments though. Steve Walters played in a side that if playing today would be over the cap far in excess of the Storm side, player for player much stronger in almost every conceivable area. But would anyone with half a brain say "OH imagine if he was playing for the Crushers he would suck" no, one of the reasons why Canberra were so good was because Walters is the best rake of all time. Elias not quite as good, neither is Bedsy but both very very good hookers.

Cam Smith has proven himself at every level, Farah has not. C Smith outside Billy Slater is probably the most influential player the Storm have had since they were over the cap.

Farah has to do it at rep level and also be able to take his side into the semi's on a regular basis. 1 year in 4 isn't good enough. He has all the skills and all the tricks but Smith has the big play and the ability to perform under high pressure situations.

OK - the sum of all arguments:
Smith and Farah play with forwards of equal ability, sand since last night was the first time the Tigers had been in a final in 5 years, Farah is crap.

Wow. Credible argument

I think it's funny how suddenly the Storms pack is being downplayed - even though they broke the cap to fit them in. Count the number of internationals that have been through both packs from 2005-2009 apart from the hookers.

Wests - Laffranchi, Halatau and Ellis. Three.

Melbourne - White, Hoffman, Johnstone, Kidwell, Crocker, Blair, Manu, Kafusi, Kearns, Lima - Ten.

No one rates them huh? Obviously selectors do. And CEOs with shady piles of $. But who are they compared to a couple of tards on a website ffs!!!!

Cameron Smith is the Australian captain in waiting, QLD captain in waiting. I mean compared to a couple of tards on a website that means nothing.

Of course Melbourne will have more internationals when they are a MORE successful team.

Maybe we should review Steve Walters greatness as well because of the internationals in the Raiders side?

And they are more sucessful because they have better players........

Your point re Walters is only partly f*cked, because you could say the same about Elias, but not about Bedsy who had both gun sides and crap sides around him. Farah also.

You could also yack about blokes like Jim Sedaris, Richard Swain, Luke Priddis et al in their prime, but maybe all things being considered it's consistency regardl;ess of pack quality that I like. Hence Bedsy and Royce Simmons are joined by Farah in that group.

Both Farah and Smith are class hookers. Farah has been more consistent in the NRL - hence the Dally M points he usually nabs - which is the point of this thread.

Cameron Smith is a more successful hooker because he is a better player.

Cameron Smith has already won a Dally M medal, already won an Origin man of the series and won the award for QLDs best in a losing series in 2005, also won the Golden Boot.

Farah hasn't established himself at origin or international level. Cameron Smith also regularly polls well in the Dally M awards as well even in 2007 when Farah got 35 votes Smith got 31

So Cameron Smith is consistent at all levels Farah is consistent in club football.

Walters played in a crap Cowboys side in the mid 90s, Elias, Bedsy and Simmons all had less than desirable sides at times but they ALL proved themselves at the representative level.

Robbie Farah is a dumb dumb footballer,he always has to go for the hero play in everything he does to try to make himself look good instead of doing the smart thing.

Like that God awful kick against the Titans last friday night in open space that went dead, either look for support or take the tackle you dummy.

Robbie once again proved last night he is a kick happy spastic

As soon as he kicked that field goal I said to my friend watch Carney carve them up now they've shown weakness with that option.

I'm pretty sure it was mainly luck how it played out, but I still have to claim my great call

Wrong option to go for the 1 at that stage though.
