Agreed. Inglis should be as well.
Bird and co. too
Show me where Inglis threatened murder? Show me where he was convicted? Show me where his alleged victim was pregnant? This case is worse on multiple levels.
FFS, we have the police, the justice department for a reason.

It has been dealt with by the law, the NRL is not the f**king law.
At many "normal" workplaces you'll get sacked for a conviction. And at most you wouldn't be hired.

People convicted of serious crimes like this have no place in our game.

And as for people thinking I'm biased. I was 100% behind my team getting rid of Junior Vaivai when he got in trouble in a similar situation. I'm just disappointed another club picked him up and the NRL being useless as usual didn't step in.

There should be 3 indiscretions that the NRL has an absolute zero tolerance for and issues immediate permanent bans. Those 3 are as follows:

1. Convictions for violence against women.
2. Any positive test for performance enhancing drugs.
3. Match fixing.

I'd be happy if he was banned for life. It would set a good precedent - if you are found guilty of assault you get banned.

Add spot fixing ala Ryan Tandy.

Life ban? No. 1 year suspension and then reassessed. If he commits a similar act again then life. Lui should have been given the flick for life.

Suspending the prick for life doesn't mean that he's not going to give the woman another thumping, it just means that next time it's not the NRL's problem.

The best thing the NRL can do is act so he doesn't do it again, not sweep the problem away.

You are pathetic.
Just because Inglis didn't get a conviction doesn't mean he didn't do it.
In a perfect world anyone found guilty of violence against women should be banned. Including Greggy boy 'protecting' his Mrs.

Inglis was never found guilty of anything. His now wife has said he was protecting her when she was potentially about to self harm. Completely different situation to this one where Gordon has actually been found guilty.

Wank wank wank. I know what was said at the time. I do watch the news and read the papers.
I didn't believe it then, and a f**ktard like you regurgitating it sure as shit isn't gonna change my mind.

funny reading some of this stuff.

pretty bad what happened, but at the end of the day, at least he stood up in front of court and pleaded guilty. he knows he did wrong, so he let the courts decide his punishment, instead of hiding behind lies and crap.

id say he is completely remorseful for what he has done. unlike others whio have lied to get off what they did.

doesnt chamge the fact he did something really worng, but he has had his day in court. im sure the sharks will have something lined up for him in terms of punishment. the case has only just been heard, lets wait and see if there are any further repercussions.

After seeing the NRL accept the Shaun Metcalf registration, nothing surprises me anymore. Robert Lui's case or this one are peanuts compared to it really...

Metcalf was a long time ago. I spose it comes down to how long you continue to punish someone for the one crime they committ. If you stop former criminals from trying to earn a living then they're going to have no choice but to keep committing crimes in order to survive.

I have a question for you Bunniesman.

Player A - Plays for a wealthy club, assaults a woman on a night out. Club gives the lady 100k to keep it quiet and no one knows a thing.

Player B - High profile player has lots of money, beats his wife but settles it outside of court with money similar to player A.

Player C - Young player/fringe first grader hasn't earnt much money yet, assaults a woman. She takes him to court he gets found guilty and is de-registered from the NRL.

Where's the justice in that? I don't feel sorry for Player C he only has himself to blame but there's no equality. You're just giving incentive to players to be even more corrupt and deluded them with thoughts that they are untouchable.

Should we really just put our heads in the sand, de-register anyone who gets caught just so we can be perceived more positively amongst certain groups? I think it stinks of reactive, negative behaviour.

Did he man up and do the right thing or just realise he had nowhere to run and was advised to cop a plea fast and look sorry as hell?

In any event - first offenders shouldn't be nailed to the cross for life. He gets what he gets from the Judge and the club and NRL should ban him for a year. He pays his penance, he makes amends, he gets a LOT of counselling with a clean bill of mental health at the end of it and if he comes back after that with a new attitude to life great. If he ever goes there again - sionara permanently from the NRL.

The ARU should have a deal with the NRL on not allowing recidivists to code jump too.
