Why the hell it was pulled down in the first place?

Some full time staff are desperately needed if the international game is to ever grow.

Who knows, many of us were on the old RLIF forum when iten and without warning, next we knew was the RLWC08 site poping up.

I have said on occasion that some of the WC profits needed to go back into running a professional un biased RLIF.

You know that is an interesting challenge, to come up with a way to "speak" or hold a conversation using rugby league or sporting terms... hmmmm.
It's interesting that the Americans are talking about changing terms such as tackle=down, try=touchdown, etc etc - and i saw a really bad american movie about Union last night and they have renamed hooker to simply hook.
I can see why the Americans are doing it, but it could lead to confussion in the future.

I've heard about that movie... even had the haka in it, because you know the haka is used by all teams that play union

The obvious answer is to make it easier for Americans to relate to by emphasizing the similarities to the football they already know. For myself, having grown up watching that game, try is a silly word to me so I always use touchdown. It's a genuine touchdown too since the ball has to be touched down, not just taken to the goal line.

A try is hystorical in that in the old days a Try only gave you a 'try' at goal, not points. It then was changed that a try gave you 3 points and that has been changed since. Its why you have conversions. The conversion is actually what used to be important.
