Great news that France will be playing GB in the June International in which a week's break in the SL has been set aside, hopefully the game will take place in France and France can be at or near full strength.

I'm hoping it will be something like

1. Bosc
2. Charles
3. Duport
4. Couturier
5. Saddoui
6. Greseque
7. Rinaldi

13. Mounis
12. Fakir
11. Elima
10. Guisset
9. Berthezene
8. Ferriol

14. Fellous
15. Raguin
16. Tamghart
17. Griffi or Gossard

I considered Rinaldi as hooker and Bosc for 5/8 but i think now that Bertheneze will get a chance at Salford to show his true form, he will be the right choice.
Thats a strong line up.

Midweek game in some crappy northern town or midweek game in glorious south of France sunshine?

One will have a small crowd and little media attention in the host country, the other will have a much bigger crowd and be the focus of at least some sort of build up. Either way it won't make much money, but tbh that is irrelevant.

It's not a difficult question.

Some of us actually live in these "crappy northern towns " as you succinctly put it. The "crappy towns" that gave birth to rugby league. We are the people who actually created the great game you now watch. Why not play it in some salubrious southern metropolis and get next to no crowd and absolutely zip media coverage? We can't all live in the beautiful south. I suppose you'll be getting your butler to reply to this.

It'll be a weekend game. The Super League draw sets aside a clear weekend this year for the "mid-season international".

I'd imagine it will be played in France, the GB game might have a few more rersources behind it for mid-season travel than the French game currently does?

One reason for having it France would be that there will be 3 internationals in a row at the end of the season in England

Easy there buddy, just a joke.

Although to be fair, the RFL have played games in places that really don't serve the game well in terms of the way we pressent our sport, and it's not like there were big crowds turning up to provide a counterweight.

And my neck of the woods certainly isn't "salubrious" although it does beat the hell out of Keighley.

Pelo will probably get a run and apparently Murphy is now eligible for France and may play.

Good news.

If they have set a weekend aside for it, there's an opportunity to make a event of it and achieve a decent crowd...

With a decent stadium....

Pelo's been the form France player this season and will definitely be in. I'd have Teixido starting at rake and have Berthezene on the bench. Griffi would also have to be on the bench for me.

Saddaoui is a donkey and should be dropped, his day is past.

Look, I'm really happy this is going ahead and as such I shouldn't complain, however I need to say this as it's a bugbear of mine. I hope it doesn't offend or misinterpreted as I am a massive supporter of International rugby league..

Why are we hoping for a 15,000 crowd?

The weekend is free of Superleague matches. The French have now had the benefit of a decent amount of their players having 2 years in the ESL..

We all know if this was a match between England and France with a certain other code, this would get 60,000 at Twickenham...

Why the hell isn't the RFL pulling out all stops to promote this from day 1. Compare the 2 matches. Yawnion would be typical Northern Hemisphere rugby. stop start penalty after penalty after penalty. They should have a TV commercial with the best hits and tries of the ESL (with plenty of Catalans imagery) and put on display the best of the Greatest Game....

15,000? No way. With the right promotion and support, we should be attempting to fill a 40,000 stadium...

Let's not forget, this is NOT likely to be a 52-12 flogging. Surely with French involvment in the ESL were looking at a GB victory of say 32-20 or something like that.

That's my say.

agreed.

They need to think big and push things. You can't just sit back and hope people will flock to it. Dare to dream RFL
