scored one as well.

Some very impatient people here, I think Ayshford's done a good job since being put into first grade, even though he hasn't been spectacular.

Hardly impatient, just trying to understand how he gets signed to a two year contract without proving himself at NRL level. Look what that has done to Bryce Gibbs career

ayshford was great today, and no one was happier then myself. i hope he makes me eat my words and turns into a fantastic player.

i think its fair to say he showed more in one game at 5/8 yesterday then morris has in 3 years.

I agree too- Ayshford played very well at 5/8. I hope Teflon leaves him there (but have no faith that will actually happen).

maybe they signed blake before he played too many games because they knew, or guessed, he would be pretty good and he could be signed cheaper that way. i dont think he would be on too much cash. if they waited too long other clubs might be interested which would mean we might of had to pay more. honestly i think ayshford, marshall and ellis were our best against the storm. i think he is going alright considering he has only played a few first grade games. i'd like to see blake play left centre against the dragons and moltzen move into five eighth. hanbury at fullback. i think they signed ayshford for depth but maybe he will battle with collis or tagive for one of the centre positions.

He looks Ok to me but i cant see him being any more than that, I would have thought a club would look to sign ppl who have the potential to be great and i really fail to see any super star qualities in him.

I dont mind either way- but as I said before - its a big call to put him on a 3 year contract after only 3 NRL appearances where he did not overly display any brilliance. BUT, having said that- he has shown some good ability overall and I reckon he is worth a shot. Mind you thats conditional on how much his signature was worth...............

it's a 2 year contract, and I would think for not very much,he has already equalled JMo's attacking stats for the year, and he defends better than most.

From what I've seen of him, I'd rather him in the centres than Collis. He has good vision, good defense, cool under pressure and is improving each week.

i admit i was very, very unimpressed with his first 3 games. however against the storm he was just about best on field and then backed it up with a good game against the dragons.

i still rate collis who has been terribly unlucky with injuries, however ayshford has definitely been the pick of the fill ins (tagive, halatau, hanbury etc)

4. Lawrence
5. Tuiaki
6. Marshall
7. Moltzen
8. Payten/Skando
9. Farah

16. Galea
17. Gibbs/Skando/Payten

I'd go the other way.

To me, a lock forward is a workhorse, someone who will do the dirty work. I can't picture Blake to be this man. Instead of the weights I'd like Blake do some some sprint training, get his speed up. I think at centre, he knows when there is something on out wide and is willing to promote the footy. Has a good brain, tall, good defender. Centre is spot I'd leave him. I don't want a ball playing lock, I'd rather an agressive S.O.B to do the hard stuff. We have enough ball players.

The other option is offloading Collis, putting Ayshford in the centers and Galea at Lock.

I feel Collis is a genuine footballer though and the side is better with him.

Or maybe Lawrence to the wing and dumb Ryan. However Lawrence is too devestating a hole runner to be on the wings =/

I think Blake has shown more promise at centre than Collis has shown over the last 2 years. Don't know whether it's injury or what, but Collis has not shown anything to me to say he should be in the first side just because of what he did 3-4 years ago. Stop living in the past. Collis's form needs to change dramatically for me to put him back.

I dont think we should include Collis in thinking for next year until we actually know he is staying. There are / were strong rumours a few months ago he was to sign with Canterbury (I think).

If he could get some more speed I will agree with that, but he could be a Clyde type player at lock, attack and defend.

Not too many running lock forwards ala Brad Clyde these days. Locks are more like your Dallas Johnston's, Alan Tongue's, Corey Parker's, Luke O'Donnel's, David Stagg's etc.

Would be great if he could become a Clyde clone. He was a freak. He did it all. But I'd doubt it. Big shoes to fill.
