Ribery is the #1 player I've wanted at Arsenal since before the WC.

Absolute class, despite being Scarface himself.

Anderson (Porto) and Nani (Sporting) are both on their way to United. Anderson is the new Ronaldinho, Nani is a C.Ronaldo clone. £17m for Anderson and £14m for Nani.

Have only seen Anderson play once, haven't seen Nani but they are both supposed to be huge talents. Anderson especially plays all over the midfield, these boys could take us somewhere in Europe.

Well played Queiroz :D we wouldn't get players like this without him.

geez how much money are Man U forking out this year

supposedly the Glazer's have given Sir Alex a pot of about 50 mill to play with - plus there is some reserves if he found a major signing as well.

i would expect to see a few guys leaving the club soon though.

Much like their back up strikers.. Remember that game against the Hammers where they had 50 shots on goal from point blank range and missed them all..

I have that game recorded.. It's always good for a laugh..

Man Utd are Chelsea version 2.

Dont be hurt lil fella! We are strengthening our squad and adding depth to much needed places, Giggs and Scholes are getting on, these guys will add flair to an already exciting line up of youngsters we have managed to get. We also have some good juniors coming through with eagles, rossi, pique, martin etc.

You tellin me that Arsenal dont buy players? :sarcasm:

I know Arsenal buy players, but I wasnt shaming Man Utd for buying players. I'm shaming them on the similarities between Abromavich and Glazer.

Dude, thats a bad comparison, we have spent a quarter of what Chelsea has spent in the same period, the only signing we had last summer was carrick at 18mill whilst chelski spent 60mill on ballack and shev.

The two fellas we just bought will form a nucleus with Rooney, Ronaldo, Carrick, vidic, etc and ensure we have a bright immediate future, this sort of spending will not happen every transfer window, I can guarantee you that.

The Glaziers are in at United for a profit, its a business to them, Abromovich bought Chelsea as a toy and reading recent reports about certain favours he owes to Putin and Russia wanting him to pay billions in tax, I am not sure how long the spending spree will last at Chelsea.

I hate Chelsea, but its a healthy hatred, wouldn't wanna see any club go down, besides, if they go down, who can we laugh at? :D

We actually made a profit the previous season, in terms of income from player sales exceeding what we spent on purchases. One of only two teams in the Premier League to do so, I believe. Now some of that money was earmarked for Hargreaves, and that has obviously been carried over to this offseason, so his purchase is effectively from last season in terms of how the funds are balanced at Old Trafford. Nani and Anderson are from this seasons transfer funds. If we sign a striker as well it'll come out of money we make from sales.

I've been expecting Nani to join us. Despite Spurs interest, he has made little secret of the fact that Ronaldo is his idol (quite funny when he's only two years younger than Cris) and that he wants to join us to play with him. But the Anderson capture came from out of left field and excites me a lot. He's been the standout player in the Brazil youth teams, is widely regarded as the best teenager in the world other than Messi, and is about to make his full national team debut in the Copa America. He does still have to get a work permit, but if he doesn't get one under the 'special talent' rule then it's a farce.

For all the talk about Arsenal's young guns, our young squad is taking on an almost ridiculously good look. I might go into a bit more detail in the Man Utd thread if anyone wants to read it.

Yeah, I also said I'd never seen the boy play didn't I? I have read he is most comparable to Ronaldo and the few video highlights I've seen don't tell me otherwise.

How would you know by the way? He doesn't play in Italy and we don't get Portugese football in Australia. He's barely played for Portugal either so I'm quite interested how you would know about him enough to correct me.
