thats nothing to do with lol, he is more german than english. and more canadian than german

if he didnt want to stay in the country, why did he sign a 5 year extension not so long ago?

you dont know how Bayern work. they are not a club that sells players. they dont need the cash.

in any case, in the pre season, they did cut off negotiations and say no, and Man U kept talking it up. Currently, there is no offer on the table. Bayern may well sell him, and they may well sell him for less than what they want, but they wont sell for cash, they'll if they think they can do without him. If they have another attacking midfielder in their sights, they may well decide to sell Hargreaves and get by with Ottl in his role.

speculation in the English papers is that the deal between Hargreaves and Man U has been done. 18 million pounds plus extras for any trophies/competitions won.

not confirmed as yet though.

It's going to be a long off season, I expect Man Utd to be linked with everyone, I also expect either Chelsea or Real Madrid to pay over the odds for any attacking player that goes on the market

that 18 mill deal is the same one that the english press have had done in the pre season and the january window

It could happen....I've done a quick search of some of the reputable german news sites and seen nothing.

The rumours are interesting though in light of some of the talk coming out of bayern....talk of a big clean out and six or seven new first team players coming in........

The Sun has tipped United's first signing to be the shock free transfer of Mark Viduka from Middlesbrough. The Australian striker is out of contract on Teesside, and has been linked with United and Newcastle.

that would be a surprise signing for Man U!

Bayern confirm sale of Hargreaves

Bayern Munich have agreed to sell Owen Hargreaves to Manchester United.
Club president Franz Beckenbauer told German TV: "Owen is leaving. That was the player's wish. It's a good match and it's also a good deal financially."

Beckenbauer would not confirm the transfer fee but when asked if it was £17m, he said it was "in that range

Arsenal transfer news.

The Newcastle Evening Chronicle claims that Wenger asked St James' Park officials whether they were intending to partner Owen with Obafemi Martins next season. He apparently indicated that he would be interested in taking whichever striker may be available.
Wenger is expected to watch Owen when he plays for England B against Albania this Friday night and again when he faces Brazil and Estonia if he proves his fitness at Turf Moor.
The report suggests that Manchester United's interest in Owen has cooled because of the combination of his £5million-a-year wages and his questionable fitness, while Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez has no interest in taking him back to Anfield.
Wenger has made his admiration for Martins very clear in the past, but the Nigerian will disappear on African Nations duty at the same time as Emmanuel Adebayor, leaving the Gunners with limited options.
Owen is still to sit down and talk with Newcastle boss Sam Allardyce about his future.

I'd love to see Owen play for the Gunners! But is there really any room for him?

We've already got Henry, van Persie, Adebayor, Walcott, Aliadere and Bendtner (on loan)
Manchester United and Tottenham are likely to face competition from Arsenal for 17-year-old Southampton full-back Gareth Bale.

The Saints will offer the Wales international a new contract at St Mary's but it is probable the youngster will decline the offer in order to move to a top-flight club next season.

Sir Alex Ferguson and Martin Jol both tabled January bids for the player, with Bale hinting at the time that United would be his preferred destination, despite the better chances of immediate first-team football at White Hart Lane.

However, with Arsenal entering the running Bale could see his future at the Emirates given the Gunners successful record in bring young players into the first team. The player is also a known fan of Arsène Wenger's football philosophy and this could play a major factor in his decision making.

A bid of £10million from Tottenham was reportedly accepted by Southampton in January and a similar bid from Arsenal could see a deal completed.

C'mon Arsenal lets score him!

London, England (AHN) - The brightest spot for Arsenal F.C. in an otherwise disappointing season was repaid Tuesday for his efforts. Lanky striker Emmanuel Adebayor has signed a contract extension of undisclosed length and value, but a statement on the Arsenal website described the deal as "long-term."
As the ownership of the club next season remains yet unsettled, the decision to lock up Adebayor by manager Arsene Wenger is a notable commitment. The 23-year-old scored twelve times in thirty-two matches for the Gunners in 2006-07, filling in ably for injured playmakers Thierry Henry and Robert van Persie. However, Adebayor has grappled with managers at Monaco, his former club, and the Togolese national team in the past.
His youth and size tempted Arsenal to purchase Adebayor from Monaco in January 2006 for ?7 million ($14 million American). He scored in his Arsenal debut that season, finishing with four goals and four assists in twelve games and generating hope of a Premier League title run for the Gunners in 2006-07.
Unfortunately for their supporters, a rash of injuries held Arsenal in fourth position at year's end, finishing behind Chelsea, Manchester United, and Liverpool. However, contributions from young players like Adebayor kept the door open to Champions League qualification in 2007-08.

Adebayor is a great prospect, and its great that he has re-signed with us.

you're kidding right?

Not at all, he is stronger and more skillful than Berbatov, who was an average Bundesliga striker and has flourished in the epl with the poor defences and emphasis on attack. Only 2 strikers scored more goals than viduka in the premier league, playing for a sh*t team like Boro, thats some effort

Put Viduka up front, holding the ball up and freeing up space for rooney and ronaldo, he'd go alright I reckon, and would compliment the other manu players much better than berbatov
