Ivan Cleary hit with $20k breach notice

$20,000 isn't nearly enough.

There's being angry at refereeing decisions and carrying on at a press conference - which is bad enough. But to insinuate the referees have manipulated a game, basically an affront to their integrity, is outright slanderous.

And his comments say far more about the integrity of Ivan Cleary than it does about that of the referees. His team might be at the top of the comp - and well done to Penrith for being there - but he is at the bottom of the barrel in the integrity stakes.

But what if the referees have manipulated the game? Because we've seen them do it.

That's checking numbers - not manipulating games. I'm with the NRL on that..

Could be checking it for various reasons. such as consistent infringements that could warrant further penalties, cautions, sin bins, whatever. Especially now it's just back to one referee. But to suggest it's to favour any particular side (ie manipulation) isn't right.
