The bad news (from that renowned sports columnist Peter FitzSimons in this weeks Fitz Files - http://www.smh.com.au/articles/2004/02/06/1075854064062.html):
Long wait for a title
The Herald reported on Thursday that Middlesbrough have reached the final of the English League Cup and will play Bolton Wanderers. What went unmentioned was that although "The Boro", as Middlesbrough are known to their fans, were founded in 1876 and officially joined the Football League in 1899, the net number of titles they have won to this point is - a moment while I reach for my calculator - none. Am I right in thinking the closest we come to having this sort of club in Australia is the Cronulla Sharks?
The good news:
That at least you're only the laughing stock of Australian sport, and not the whole world. There is someone worse than your club (although I have faith that you can beat Middlesbrough's record).
