Ironically, I was actually very surprised he got sent off. We have many like that get let go before.

Still was a cheap shot though and it was good to see a ref taking some stern action, it has been a long time coming.

simpkins did him the biggest favour in his career.
Willie tonga had another 3 or 4 tries to put Hodges.
The defense was much stiffer with him gone.

I have never rated the Dogs because they are short on skill. I think they may have fixed that now that they have those 3 centres on the feild.
Roosters. Gone. They have no skill & thats the score, when they play a team with skill.
Ricky is going to bow out of the semis very embarrassingly this year.

That doesn't sound right. Simpkins was clear in his own mind with what he saw and he backed his judgement. We need more refs like that.

I will, however, contradict myself and say that I thought Simpkins had an absolute shocker of a game. He missed so many things like knock-ons and forward passes it isn't funny. And consistency doesn't seem to be in this man's vocabulary.
