Of course, if Field is in fact 3 years away, Hunt at half, Hutchinson and Bird at either 5/8 or lock is potentially a really good scrum base combo.

Widdop will go to England in 2018. I hear they will throw big dollars at him and if so good riddance. He will get more there than in the NRL. Plus Widdop will kill it in ESL. He will win player of the season every year there for sure.

Bird/Hunt combo would be pretty damn good. Jai field as backup because it is NRL and there are more chance of injury to players than any other sport plus he can get blooded during the Origin period.

Everyone forgets Kurt Mann!
I hold high hopes he will get a fair go in the 7, however, very concerned dopey will not do so.

It sounds like the horse has bolted for Mann at 6 or 7. Mary will play McCrone. It wouldn't surprise me if Mary starts our leading try scorer for 2016 in the Cutters.

What's the point in playing mann @ 7 when Hunt is coming ?

Mann at 6...

Widdop at 7...

especially if widdop is not in our plans for next year and if he does not work there then Nona or even mccrone can slot in.

This combo has more chance of igniting the backline and producing the much needed points than the known quantity of Widdop 6 mccrone 7 combo did last season.

Widdop to full back or Center.People worried about young players not being ready, from my experience it's lot easier when you have good players around you.Mann Field Nona and Duffy should be mix of half and 5/8.Macrone had his go last year.sack MacGregor

I can't see the point in selecting Macrone at 7. For me it's a no brainer; Widdop at 7 and Mann at 6 - round 1.

Dufty to fullback, Dugan at right centre and Aitken to right wing.

Then let all the contenders compete for the first chance of a first grade spot.

For me Aitken plays centre if he doesn't as benny v says wing is not his spot

Has Milne ever played much on the wing in the past? Because if he hasn't which of the 3 centres are we going to drop/release? Dugan, Aitkin or Milne? We can't keep them all if one of them can't play wing. This is going to be a nightmare. All 3 would do a good job in the centres imo. Unless we used Aitken off the bench, maybe we could squeeze all of them in. Quite the dilemma we have on our hands.

Luckily we have super coach to take care of this one for us.

Now that the Hunt's signing is official, it makes sense to announce the new coach for 2018 and sign Bird for the 6 Jumper.

Just imagine a spine of Dufty, Bird, Hunt and McInnes! Young, fast and exciting. With big outside backs - MacDonald, Dugan, Milne together with a big pack with tones of speed.

Things are looking up! Go the almighty Dragons

I seriously doubt we will chase Bird TBH in fact it wouldn't suprise me if the Broncos made a sustained attempt to lure him there as a halves replacement for Hunt.

Dragons mandate is to try and build a team of players brought up in the region - Simms was the first of the signings - they will try for Bird but it will be a hit and Run play - no way it will play out in the media - much similar to Ben Hunt deal all over in quick time.. I reckon they are trying to figure out Dugans contract first ...
