Hate to say it but Newcastle are an exciting prospect over the next few years. Even more so if Browny can jag Bird's signature.

Jack and his mom are sitting at home with a big smile on their faces - it's just like winning the lottery.

Bi
Bird is not worth a million dragons have made a offer and no 6 he will play around with media like a egg head and he will stay with the fish fingers. No brains the guy is a dragons junior also lives in wollongong they offer him a long term position no 6 and still has no idea what he wants.
Bird was only waiting for 2 offers before making his mind up..Newcastle and ours...he will take slight unders from Dragons vs Newcastle offer to come to us....BUT The sharks and Flanagan in particular have a hold on him but they need to e offering $800K a season to keep him

Dragons offer $850K a season they will get him w a $3.5M offer over 4 years....

I believe Bird wants to stay at the Sharks but knows they won't fork out the big bucks he is asking for. He will move to the Dragons if we stump up around the 800k.

If Dugan indicates he is moving on or if the Dragons withdraw their offer to Dugan. We will have enough cap space to solve most problems in our backline. If Widdop also was moved on, we definitely would have room for Bird.

You actually believe anything or anyone from the saints club ?

Yes actually, I do. He said Foran, Sandow and Carney would not be at the club this year and they're not. Why would he come out publicly and say that Jack won't be at the Dragons in 2018. I think i'm going to take the head of recruitment's word over some people claiming to have sources.

Besides, I would have sided with you guys if Millward dodged around the question, but he didn't, he categorically denied the notion he would be at the club. That's enough to be going on don't you think?

If this is all true then ffs he is easily worth 800k, just get him back and make things right again!

Your right and it was publicly stated but you must consider the below facts..
Jack Bird has yet to sign for Cronulla as his mgt is waiting for the release of the revised salary cap for 2018-2020 to ensure how much they can ask...
Secondly i have been reliably informed by persons inside his mgt that they are waiting for 2 if not 3 offers to come in before going back to Cronulla on a last right to match....2 of those clubs are Dragons and Knights - the Knights have already put forward their offer so the source so far is correct.
The deadline on Dugan makes perfect sense because in the situation he doesn't accept it will allow the club to go to plan B and what better plan B than Jack Bird who can play Fullback, Centre AND 5/8 for presumably the same money they are offering Dugan PLUS he's junior...ofcourse Millward is going to say Jack Bird is not coming publicly because if he said there was interest what message is he sending out to the below unsigned players
(Dugan, Widdop, Milne, Mann)....all players that play then same positions as Jack Bird..

Let me tell you Jack Bird will go to the highest bidder because thats the way he has been managing his career 1 year contract then 2 years his mgt is very cognizant of the increasing cap and he's telling his client to hang out for pay day as a $1M pay day will be the norm for leading players by 2018/19 in their positions..Jack Bird has already won a premiership an played SOO he's now looking for $$$ and unfortunately Cronulla will not be paying him over $650K -$700K a season because Valentine Holmes and Maloney will walk!!

Its down to 2 clubs atm IMO and the Dragons involvement depends on Widdop and or Dugan resigning.....if one drops out Bird will be hunted!! and Bird knows that so he's waiting for all the cards to drop to know where his services are most needed....

A decision on Dugan and Widdop needs to be made prior to offering Bird a contract of this size. Bird prefers to play fullback but is happy to play five-eighth. A halves combination of Bird and Hunt would be very special.

Of course he denied why would they tell everyone about what they offered and mybe stuff up negotiations
They would not speak about an offer to Bird while the Dugan and Widdop contracts are up in the air. Decisions on Dugan and Widdop will conclude soon - that is what Bird's management are waiting for.
