I never agreed with the Bird signing. There's no where he fits into our team. It just looks like we grabbed him because we wanted whatever marquee player was left.

I know he has ongoing health and injury issues but that makes the signing an even poorer decision. Maybe we can do a Barba and offload him somewhere else after this season.

Such players tend to be overhyped.

To me he looks like a very strong centre with an offload; and a great utility at rep level.

But he's far from being a superstar at this point. And yet the Broncos paid him superstar money. Oops...

Personally I think he is a great player but for whatever reason he has not assimilated and fitted in up there and that has hurt his motivation.

Knights will take him off the Broncos for 300k to play in the centres. He will thrive in that environment.

I don't understand the injury excuse.
If he's selected, he's supposed to be the best man for the job, and If he's paid big money it means his higher value warrants greater criticism.

Given all the above, he's on the field and he's not putting in. Pretty simple.

The paranoid part of me thinks a small part of it was Wayne wanting to f**k with the Knights just a little more. I'm no doubt being paranoid but it was a really weird signing for the Broncos. Bird has talent no doubt but he wasn't what the Broncos needed at all.

In the end though he didn't preserve his legacy since we're winning games again.
