Bird is a premiership winner at CENTRE, He played all year in 2016 at CENTRE. He played busted with one arm during the grand final at CENTRE.

Now, I’m no highly paid NRL coach like creeping, but I kind of imagine there’s a message in that
Let's get this right - Wayne should be playing him in the centres?

This thread reminds me of when Ricky Stuart famously left out Jarryd Hayne from the NSW team the year after he won the Daly M because he said he's not a fullback but a five eighth and in the second game he picked him on the wing. Could they do something similar to Bird? Wouldn't surprise me tbh.

He's a f**king center, good speed, ok hands, big frame, good finisher. Always has been in my book. Good footy player, not worth 1mill though, fml.

Edit, should have read the rest of the thread but yeahj... Center.
His best position so far has been centre but half the problem is he thinks he's a spine and is being paid as such. Also if he's 'just a centre' you've massively overpaid as no centre in the game is worth over $1 mil a year

You could play taumololo in the centres and he would be would a mill.

He could play 2nd row down the track, he's suited to the edges. Blind Freddy can see it.

Won a premiership, played SoO, how is Blake doing?

Prefer at centre.

Yeah but he's not a 5/8 tho bro. I'm sure you said 5/8 was his best spot. Why did you bring him up as a great 5/8 prospect when you prefer him at centre?

I'd prefer him at centre too, or better yet the back row. But in the halves, he's clunky.

I’d be up for selling the fat merkin to another club and footing half his bill.

Got better players sitting in ISC

Not really, he started his career as an edge forward and was not nearly as effective. Taumalolo isn't worth that money if he's not making 15 hit ups and 150m+ per game, at that point he's not really a centre anymore
