You'd think so but who knows how the next couple of seasons will turn out. Miller didn't really ever had a great game though did he. Brooks did on his first attempt.

I'd like to see Moses in the top grade as well. I've heard he could possibly be better than Brooks.

Moses is a different style of player.. still an awesome prospect tho when he beefs up a little.

Miller I still think would have been very handy this year but Brooks always was destined to be the long term option.

Yeah I wouldn't say Moses is necessarily better or worse than Brooks, very different style of player. Brooks is more composed, steer the ship type player, whereas Moses is more erratic, X factor style.

From what I've seen in Holden Cup (which is not much to be honest) they work very very well together.

Hull couldnt have played worse this morning...possesion was about 35-40% before I turned off...kicks were crap, field possy non existant...Miller had a poor game in a big final...it was a terrible game overall

Looks like we pulled the right rein in letting him go...lol.
"We" didn't do anything... Sheens made the right choice in letting him go as he knew the talent that was about to emerge...Joey Johns said on radio yesterday that he tried EVERYTHING and he emphasised EVERYTHING to get Brooks to Newcastle but Sheens went to see Brook's family to explain why he should make his future with the tigers and managed to convince him to stay...when some of you guys get tired of sticking the knife in you may want to quietly thank him for that

Did sheens also negotiate his latest contract extension a few months back?

If he wanted to go he'd be gone.

We are still quietly thanking Shines for signing Blair & Anasta, and letting Fafita go.

Fifita could have been the x factor forward that we need. Blair is solid - I'd state he has even been good but he is not a dominant player and nowhere near the level of Fifita.

I still fail to see what Anasta offers. Experience is a word unless it means something like consistent high quality play. Anasta isn't offering that at all.

Please...Miller had absolutely nothing. Brooks showed in his first game everything that Miller was incapable of. In 12 months time, comparing Miller and Brooks will be laughable, in fact it already is.

No one is arguing against that.

And everyone here knows that Miller was only keeping the spot warm.

However, knowing Brooks was unable to play the entire season, and we had no actual halfback, Miller should have been persevered with for this season at halfback, for the sole purpose of enforcing structure on players to make Brooks life all that much easier for next season.

Yes there is certainly logic there and that would have been ideal.

However with Miller knowing he was no chance to extend his NRL career with the Tigers past this season, perhaps he was released on compassionate grounds to sign a super league contract whilst it was on offer.

Thats almost entirely what happened.

Sheens screwed Miller around and he was looking at leaving at the end of 2012.

He asked to leave and as Potter was doing a clean out (and its utterly pointless forcing a bloke to play for a club he's not happy at) he didn't stand in his way and let him go.

Sheens gave everyone else a crack but Miller.
Hard to fathom that Moltzen was preferred.

Moltzen played better in the few games at halfback than miller ever did though. He didn't get much of a crack at the number 7 either.

In regards to Moltzen...what's happening with this guy? With Benji, Ayshford, Beau Ryan all gone I doubt Moltz wants to hang around much longer.

However, he is injured and there wouldn't really be any reason to rush into another club when he can just put his feet up and rest on the significant money I imagine he's on.
