With Sione being suspended, I was thinking the choice was between Pat/Chanel/Tapine. Interesting that Pat, who I thought was the least likely, gets a shot.

It's going to be funny to see what the side looks like mid-season when we have a few injuries/suspensions and Gagai/Hodko are away with Origin.

Best we could hope for is a decent mid ear signing. Our best bet would be to go for an NRL experienced centre/winger on the outer at another club. Im not talkin rep quality, just anyone who is close to NRL quality.

Someone like Ryan Morgan? The Eels were shopping him to Melbourne a month ago.

Morgan is on something like 400k at the Eels, no way we can afford that.

Swap Tapine for a cheap Raiders outside back seems like the best option.

Ryan Morgan is one of those joke backs in the NRL.

I would be extremely pissed if we signed him.

He would make the worst NRL lineup.

Can't argue now that I've seen the trial team. Wow, Pat Mata'utia in first grade after one suspension. Depth in the backs could be a massive problem this year.

I'm not sure I've ever seen Pat do anything remotely NRL-like.
Depth in the backs, lol. I saw Feeney and Mamo play v Wyong and Ipswich on successive weekends last year. If they are the best your salary cap can afford you are in big trouble firstly in game one v titans then long term v everyone else.

I'd prefer Ross tbh despite being average, at least he has a bit of toe and will give his all. Morgan is just meh in all areas but his defence in particular is terrible.

Awww, c'mon what do you expect when there's only 6.8million to spend.

And everyone has to remember, as many have said in the confirmed signings thread in the NRL Forum, 500K just aint what it used to be! :sarcasm:

Probably just the 1 bloke with seperate troll accounts. Kinda like the Souths 'fans' in the NRL section who are constantly agreeing with each other.

You give them far too much credit. Probably ask SIRI to spell the post out. Creating seperate accounts is beyond them.

Good to see us go from one play maker (maybe half a play maker in Mullen) in the spine to 2-3. I never saw Mullen as much of a ball player and Kurt was more of a small lock played in different positions with his heart on his sleeve.

With Feeney and Hodgkinson in the spine, that makes 2.5 genuine playmakers. I think we could be much more dangerous in attack this year. Also if Levi gets to start, he's pretty dangerous out of dummy half.
