Oh my god it's happening!! We've got our man!! We've signed Arrow!!! What a great Christmas present this is!! Wow, I am honestly so excited right now and I just did two laps of the house leaping in joy pumping the Rabbit on my chest. So friggin happy with this. The kind of signing that can seal the future of the club for many years to come. What a huge day this has turned out to be for all Souths fans.

Only downside is that it's for 2021 currently. he could still ask for a release and make it happen effective immediately. God, I hope that happens. Then I'll do laps of the neighborhood singing Glory, Glory instead of just my house haha.

Here's the article from the Courier Mail,

State of Origin star Jai Arrow to leave Gold Coast Titans after signing four-year deal with South Sydney

Jai Arrow has sealed his highly-touted move to South Sydney and could be a Rabbitoh as soon as 2020 if he seeks a release from the final year of his contract on the Gold Coast.

The Gold Coast Titans have been dealt a cruel Christmas blow after South Sydney snared Queensland Origin star Jai Arrow on a $3.2 million deal.

News Corp can reveal Arrow has agreed to terms on a four-year contract with the Rabbitohs from 2021 which will see him replace retired English legend Sam Burgess.

Arrow could seek a release from the final year of his Titans contract to join the Rabbitohs immediately for the 2020 season, making it a five-year tenure worth $4 million if the Gold Coast let him go.

Arrow is understood to have informed Titans coach Justin Holbrook and recruitment chief Mal Meninga of his decision to leave the club.

The signing of Arrow is a major blow to the Titans, who will lose arguably their best player after finishing the 2019 season with the wooden spoon.

The Titans have covered for the loss of Arrow by signing highly-rated Melbourne young gun Tino Fa’asuamaleaui on a $2 million three-year deal from 2021.

Arrow, 24, had a desire to remain at the Titans, but the Rabbitohs presented a compelling pitch and the $800,000-a-season deal proved too good to knock back.

The lure of playing under seven-time premiership winning coach Wayne Bennett, who gave Arrow his NRL debut at the Broncos, and for a proven NRL title contender were decisive factors.

Arrow is desperate to play NRL finals football and the Rabbitohs presented their premiership plans to the four-game Maroons representative.

He will fill the void left by Burgess, who was forced to give away the game at the end of last season due to a shoulder injury.

Jai Arrow tells Titans he's joining Souths

The Gold Coast forward is contracted to the Titans for 2020 but, as first reported by NewsCorp on Tuesday, he has agreed to terms to join the Rabbitohs from the following season on a four-year deal.

It is understood Arrow has not asked for an early release from his Titans deal for next season. Gold Coast officials would be reluctant to let him go early unless they can secure suitable compensation either in the form of a player swap or a transfer fee.

Arrow has played 38 NRL matches for the Titans after joining the club from Brisbane in 2018, having played 24 matches for the Broncos in the previous two seasons. He has represented Queensland four times.

Neither the Titans or Rabbitohs have made any official announcements about Arrow's future at this stage.

The 24-year-old will reunite at Redfern with veteran coach Wayne Bennett, who handed him his first-grade debut at the Broncos in 2016.

Gold Coast recently shored up their forward stocks for 2021 and beyond by signing Storm young gun Tino Fa’asuamaleaui on a three-year deal following a raft of interest in the Junior Kangaroos representative, led by the Warriors.

Jai Arrow will attempt to negotiate release from Gold Coast so he can join Souths immediately

With his future beyond 2021 sorted after Souths trumped Gold Coast’s contract, Jai Arrow will now seek an immediate release so he can join Wayne Bennett’s side next season.

NRL: The Courier Mail is reporting that Jai Arrow has agreed to a four-year deal with the South Sydney Rabbitohs from 2021.

Queensland Origin star Jai Arrow will seek an immediate release from the Gold Coast Titans as South Sydney coach Wayne Bennett revealed his plans for Sam Burgess’ replacement.

As exclusively revealed by News Corp Australia on Tuesday, Arrow has agreed to terms on a $3.2 million four-year deal with the Rabbitohs from 2021 which will see him replace retired English superstar Burgess.

Arrow has informed the Titans he would not be accepting a three-year contract extension.

Jai Arrow wants to link up with Wayne Bennett immediately.

The Rabbitohs trumped the Titans with a deal worth about $100,000-a-season more than the Gold Coast’s offer as well as an extra season in 2024. Wests Tigers made a huge play for Arrow.

Arrow, 24, is contracted to the Titans until the end of next season, but his management will attempt to negotiate a release so he can join South Sydney immediately.

Bennett is a huge fan of Arrow, having given him his NRL debut at the Brisbane Broncos in 2016, and said he was the ideal player to replace Burgess.

“I am very pleased,” Bennett said.

“You can never be certain you will get someone but we put forward a good offer to Jai and were always hopeful he would sign.

“He is just the type of player we need. I like his work ethic and the value he brings to a club as a person off the field as well.

“I coached Jai at the Broncos and there was never a question about his character. I see him playing in the middle for us, he is suited to the centre of the field

Wayne Bennett can’t wait for Jai Arrow to head south.

Titans executive chairman Dennis Watt has previously claimed the club would not consider releasing Arrow if he signed with a rival franchise from 2021.

However, the NRL player market is constantly moving and the Titans could be convinced of letting arguably their best player go if they can snare a suitable replacement.

The Rabbitohs are open to move on either Dane Gagai or Alex Johnston to accommodate the possible arrival of disgruntled Roosters star Latrell Mitchell.

A hard-working middle forward, Arrow is a much different player to backline speedsters Gagai and Johnston.

The Titans must decide whether to hang on to Arrow even though he is headed elsewhere in 2021 or look to replace him immediately and move on.

The Titans have signed rising Melbourne forward Tino Fa’asuamaleaui from 2021 and are keen to get him to the Gold Coast earlier.

If the Storm release Fa’asuamaleaui that would open the door for Arrow to move to Souths immediately.

Titans recruitment chief Mal Meninga has shown interest in Mitchell, but no formal approach was made. That could change now given Arrow’s future has been sorted.

The loss of Arrow is a crushing blow to the Titans after the club collected the 2019 wooden spoon.

New coach Justin Holbrook would have been banking on Arrow for at least the upcoming season and was keen to have him long-term.

But Meninga and the club’s powerbrokers refused to engage in a bidding war for Arrow and were blown out of the water by South Sydney.

So it seems our offer was around 750k if we offered an extra 100k a season than the Titans which I am very happy with.

I think Arrow will play prop with us next year I can’t see him playing in the second row. Our prop rotation is going to be very good.

Prediction for forward pack come round 1

8. Arrow
9. Cook
10. Tom Burgess
11. Su’a
12. Lowe
13. Murray

14. Tatola
15. Sironen
16. Knight
17. Nicholls/Amone

That’s a mad forward pack. I’d even consider starting Knight and having Tom come off the bench for greater impact.

That is a very promising article. It's the first indication we've got that he really wants to be here for 2020 so god, I hope that we can make it happen. That'd be just wonderful!!

Also great to hear the quotes from Wayne, that basically means it's 100% confirmed. I guess we just have to wait for an official announcement now but that won't happen until we know for sure whether he's coming for 2020 or not.

Tbh that second row worries me a bit!

First , I would be surprised if Arrow is not in our second row.

Arrow for mine is TOO small for a top notch prop , good size for second row.

With a backrower option of Sua , Lowe , Arrow and Murray , instead of being worried , I think it is the best backrower in the NRL. I believe Sua will improve significantly as an edge backorder and expect Murray to alternate with Lowe on the edge and alternate with Arrow for centre.

Also if Goodwin is to play any NRL this year .........I think there is more chance of it as a second row option. The day he makes our top side backline , is the day we have significant injuries.

Murray would be the better second row option than Arrow, Murray is quicker on his feet and is more of a ball player.

I think Arrow is fine to play at prop or lock and that’s where he will play.

The one thing I want to see Su’a improve on is his general defence and defensive reads.

I’ve heard Goodwin isn’t as slow as what people say and he’s been training very well.

Personally I have Goodwin ahead of Allan for a spot in our backline. Get an injury or 2 and in will come Bryson.
