How is this even newsworthy in any way whatsoever.

Must've been some seriously lame and bored cops as well to write someone up for possession of two valium tablets. Surely they have more important calls

and the silly bastards wonder why people hate them

because the majority of them are absolute wimps that hide behind the gun, baton, capsicum spray and the badge?
Some of them aren't fit to wear that uniform, classic police officers used to give you an arse kicking when you deserved it, some of the modern bunch............................. ugggggggggggh........................... immature morons on a power trip.

carrying unprescribed valium on him round the town at midnight, yep I'm sure there is an innocent explanation!

As I am sure there is a malicious one.
I am just not sure whether anyone gives a sh*t anymore, its valium, its hardly like he got busted with 10 grams of 85% pure columbian in his jacket.

I just don't know what type of party he was intending to have with it, maybe one where everyone falls asleep?

A sleepover?

A sleepover?
Potentially, it would beat some of his other behavior.

Anyway, with the greatest scandal in the game since 1908 going on at the moment, I really don't see a need to give a sh*t about it.
As I have said before, if a player ever wanted to go on a drug induced alcohol fueled binge / rampage, then now is the time to do it - mainly because every few days eyes, and indeed headlines, will wander back over to those cheating merkins in purple.

you need to carry your prescription on you?

FMD

i take valium and don't go everywhere carrying the prescription. just the bottle

I've got vallium in the cupboard. Had some last time I flew to the UK.
I sure as sh*t wouldnt have a script for them. I would have to get in touch with a doctor and get them to show when I was perscribed them. Was last year some time.

I'm guessing this is going to be something as simple as a roosters doc giving a couple of Valium to friend after the game without followin proper procedure.

NRL players regularly get given powerful sleeping and pain tablets to help with injury and recovery, so the simplest solution would be that.

Of course, if he has obtained them through illegal channels then that's another story and I'd expect him to be booted by the club

Vallium is commonly taken as a comedown agent after an upper.

It's an alternative to pot.

I used to use either or both after a huge night out. Helps get the sleep rhythms back into sync.
But then I'm a dodgy fecker and never did much heavy physical stuff, unless dancing pinged off your brains for 6 hours is considered heavy? I'm sure Danish's explanation would work for mildly less dodgy people than myself.

ahhhhhhhh sleep rhythm, how I miss thee.

Do you need to take it a few hours in advance of needing to go to sleep or something?
I could really use something to do that, I stay awake for a few days at a time and then sleep for about 14 hours straight, then up for 8 hours, then another 12, then awake for a few more days, and that is the cycle basically.
It is affecting my sanity.

It's an anti anxiety drug that calms you to the point where once you fall asleep you tend to sleep longer. It will make you drousy, but as a sleep tablet per se it's pretty hopeless.

It's more used in clubbing circles to take the anxiety out of the comedown, as pot does.

There are far more effective sleeping tablets, but it can help set sleep patterns in some cases. Usually an hour before sleep is best.

I last took some when I flew. It's great for economy flights, a) because it relaxes you to the point where you dont care too much about anything and b) because it's a muscle relaxant and it means the seats are more comfortable on long flights.

However you do tend to doze off during films, but with on demand movies in long haul economy thats not much of an issue.

Oh alcohol increases its effect. Vallium is rather interesting with red wine. That combo and you will sleep!

There is a label on all prescription medications with the name of the drug, the dose, the instructions and the PATIENTS NAME, which in this case (according to the media reports), happened to be a chick.

All correct.

One more thing, valium can be a substitute for alcohol, both physiologically and psychologically. Possible explanation for Friend is that he is using to combat his alcohol problems... only problem is that he may be addicted to it.

Plenty of old timers are hooked on valium legally. Trying to get them off the drug is almost as hard as alcohol rehab.

Not sure how any of this explains why he was carrying a bottle of valium with someone elses name on it.
