Jake Marketo?

Hey guys,

Does anyone know what his status is with us for next season? Apparently he's off contract at the end of 2010. Would love to see him stay. Real player of the future and would help ease the loss of Jeremy Smith.

I also am assuming we will see a lot more of Cameron King next year with Young to move into a fulltime forwards role and Fein and King to share the role at hooker?

Some exciting prospects for next year!!

itch Rein was NYC player of the year and plays hooker. I like what I've seen of him, but if King lives up to the raps then he'll be heading elsewhere sooner rather than later.

I was so excited to see him get his first game (think it was against Souths), and he got stripped on his first hit-up hahaha.. he will be better for the run though, really hope he starts to get more game-time in 2011.

King looks the goods. Nice crisp passing from what I've seen of him this year..... pity marketo hasn't
been in FG more, looked alright at certain times in that first Raiders loss....I hope he's still here next
season also.

I think Marketo will be fighting it out with Green for a bench spot in 2011. Prior and Merrin will be there so it depends what Bennett is looking for. I'd say Green would get in ahead of him.

In regard to Cam King he didn't look ready for first grade in his game in round 26 in 2010, but it does seem like he is the future at hooker. I don't think he will see much first grade in 2011 though. Fien is an 80 minute hooker. Kyle Stanley would make a much better utility interchange given he is capable of playing so many positions.

Does anybody know if Marketo, Nick Emmett and James Aubusson are signed for next year? Interesting to see Mitch Rein may get a nrl contract for next year. Which U/20s are signed and playing in the toyota cup next season.I know McKinnon and Stockwell are playing but thats about it.

Nick Emmett resigned a few weeks ago. Aubusson I haven't heard anything about other than the rumours doing the rounds about 4-6 weeks ago.

Fein is an awesome Hooker, I personally wont like seen the hooking roll shared with Auberson, we don't need him, we do need to Blood King.

Fien is one of the most underated players in the comp, got another good 2 or 3 years in him, Aubusson will be good as back up similar to what Priddis did, we can't underestimate FG experience and the need for back up, Priddis was the man. We should also blood and develop the young players like King and Stanley.

Totally agree with you he is still too small, he'll need to put alot of muscle on to have a chance of making it as an NRL regular. I'm not convinced he will, he still has plenty of blokes in front of of him anyway.

marketo played at 91kg's last season which is probably about 5kgs too lite for a regular back row spot.
but at 188cms tall he definitely has the ability to put on some size in the off season and still be quite mobile...

from memory his dad played prop for the tigers... didnt really cement himself as a permanent first grader with the likes of roach, hemsley, brooks and co back then - the tigers had a top class forward pack... good backup player, but nothing great...
