You don't think the acquisition of a genuine halfback hasn't made the real difference here?

Oh dear.
I'm talking delivery from DH. The difference he made when he joined was amazing.
Rein simply wasn't capable of consistent quality ball from the ruck. His passing was shit. Forwards running onto the ball were reaching up or down or behind them to gather it in.
All heart and effort but the talent just wasn't there unfortunately.

Although tempted to respond with a long winded reply, I'll be rather succinct:

1. after watching (and rewatching) the recent Parramatta game, you would hardly say McInnes's passing was pinpoint.

(The absence of running from dummy half was also clearly evident)

2. during his time (so far) as SGI, McInnes hasn't been handicapped by a non dominant half, or has he been encumbered by two five-eighths in the same side.

Yes Saint-_jimmyG - those 2 five-eighths did throw a spanner in the works , things just never seem to work out with them .

More than just that, it threw the whole Sidchrome "You can't hand a man a grander spanner" toolkit out the door.

I'm surprised many here won't acknowledge what a disaster that was, not only to the side's entire attacking structures but how it also deeply affected Rein.

It certainly didn't help matters Gareth. Two 5/8ths with Rein trying to pick up the pieces was never going to work. IMO opinion McGregor should have taken ownership over this mess. The fans were calling for scalps and McGregor responded. Rein and Marshall weren't the problem but it did f**k with Rein's head. He went on to win the ISP player of the year with Penrith, and I have to say he was better than Peats today with the interchange. Pleased to see Marshall getting some media gigs too. I'm not shooting down McInnes by any means but I agree with St Jimmy on this one. Xx

It would be concerning if you didn't. Weren't you 15 at the time?

Not quite.

I was identified as an advanced reader in my nascent (go look it up), school years. Thanks for asking.

What is your claim to fame?

Initial impressions suggest you studied being a dickhead (with Honours) at some tertiary level, presuming of course, you finished year 12.
