Jamie Lyon: BREAK WATCH

I would be very surprised if Jamie didn't find the form he had before going OS, you don't just lose that talent (short of having a serious injury), how long it takes to come back is another question.

Lyon had a serious injury he had his heart, guts and balls removed

i don't mind lyon, and he is a great defender. but it is true- he has literally made zero line breaks this year! this means all his tries (4) must have come from kicks or someone elses breaks.

by way of comparison- hicks had made 9 line breaks, b stewart 8, robertson 5 and bell 4 for manly. watmough leads the side with 11.

lyon also has no line break assists and only 1 try assists.

that being said, the three quarters positions are v. weak this year. my original centre pairing for origin was collis and lyon.

Spot on. I dont believe he deserves rep selection but by the same token I do believe he has done good things (in a disjointed stint) for Manly at 5/8.

He cant be expected to be a grame breaking Brad Fittler in a handful of games in a new position. The jury is still out, but so far i see him working fairly well into the role.

Even Brad Fittler wasn't consistently playing well until the later part of his career. He also won the most over rated player a couple of years in a row if I remember correctly, much like what is happening to Lyon now.

Did he make a line break??

nrlstats has a big fat zero next to his name.....

Mind you they made 12 so he had to have picked one of somewhere!

He made one early in the second half I think it was. Though I wouldn't be surprised if they saw it just as a 'half-break'.

All I can say is that even with such hacks like Lyon, Orford, Matai or "Insert Manly's Players Name Here" Manly still find themselves in the top 2.
