Before he went to England he was awesome in Origin. He comes back and he's a crap centre and and even worse five-eighth. He's lost his touch so we're entitled to say what we like about him.

No worries. Just remember no matter how hard you try, you are still a Parra supporter trying to express your opinion on Lyon without bias. Forum members are not stupid, but go ahead, express it.

Posters can of course leave out the references to "fat sh*t" or "less than human". It really does nothing to their arguement. It confirms that they are not judging him on footballing abilities. Need I say more about what these opinions are worth. Entitled you are to them, but we too are entitled to take them with a grain of salt. I'm sure you understand.

This thread produced by a non (Lyon) Manly fan. Approximately 45 out of the 55 posts (85%) are made by non Manly fans (predominantly eels). 100% are negative. 100% are meaningless. :sarcasm:

so no one else's opinion matters, other than yours ?

Maybe Jamie should ask Watmough about taking out an AVO order against opposition defences. "You re not permitted to come within 10 metres of this person for the remainder of the season".

Everyone appears to have talked him up to Cosmic proportions.

His selection in the representative teams has caused some confusion as his form does not seem to warrant it. But his is not the only baffling selection decision this year. You cant blame Lyon if he gets chosen.

Lyon is probably the most boring centre to watch in the game, even more boring then our Carmont. His acutally quite fat now, doesnt have the speed and agility he used to. I used to think he was a gun centre when he played for the Eels, but now... Give the jersey to Josh Perry, he will play better out there in centre then Lyon, they both built about the same now anyway.

sure i am an eels fan but anyone can see that lyon is useless. Both in NSW jersey and Manly.
I am quite glad he is playing everyweek for manly, it makes them closer to a loss....

Charlie I agree I don't blame Lyon for getting picked, but I do blame him for playing like shi* it's the selectors fault that they have continued to pick him and that he is a major reason NSW lost the series

Lyon is awful. He has not shown anything to prove that he belongs in first grade, let alone rep teams.

are you geniused, how can they be "meaningless" when they reveal that Colin Best has more line breaks and more line break assists then Jamie Lyon. You sir a complete f**kwit, im drunk and i can even see that.

Your obnoxious existence while sober is intolerable to most people so you should stay drunk.

When posts are made purely on a biased dislike or hatred of someone then yes, i say they are meaningless.

Oh...and thankyou for your valuable opinion.

I am sure it would not be hard to prove with the Parra fans, just need to look through the Parra forum before he returned!!!

Do you really want me to return your question :

"of course you can prove that every one who posted negative comments likes him?"

Okay so Jamie is among my favourite players, but that still doesn't preclude me from giving a objective appraisal of him.
Quite simply he has done very little at Manly, and nothing IMHO that warrants a NSW Jersey.

Maybe he has done nothing in NSW. He has done a ton of work at Manly. I would really like to see him persist with the 5/8th posistion at manly, but we always look pretty weak in defence when he moves from the centre.

He is probably not doing enough to warrant rep selection. I think that he will come good at 5/8th eventually though.

Seems puzzling how he was carving it up at Parramatta prior to him going to Wee Waa and then the UK where he continued to be a standout in the ESL.
Back in the NRL just seems a shadow of his former NRL self, surely the ESL isn't that weak.

Spot on. I dont believe he deserves rep selection but by the same token I do believe he has done good things (in a disjointed stint) for Manly at 5/8.

He cant be expected to be a grame breaking Brad Fittler in a handful of games in a new position. The jury is still out, but so far i see him working fairly well into the role.

He'll come good if he really is good enough. He is in a transistion stage. He is being moved from centre to 5/8th, and I honestly believe that all his preparation and training has been focused on playing 5/8th at Manly.

If he has no talent, he will be found out. Granted, he has not done much in attack so far, his defence (especially when he has to play in the centres) has been exceptional. We know he has the attacking potential, it just needs to be found again.

Do you think he can get back to his top form? He has a few years left to play, and I'm sure that he will prove his worth over the next couple of seasons. I remember a few years back with Justin Hodges and his form. Now Hodges is an automatic selection in any team.

I don't believe its a case of "if" Lyon comes good, but "when" he comes good. I think being picked in the rep teams has actually put more pressure on him and he is just trying to be too careful and too safe. Maybe it would have served him well to just to concentrate on his Manly commitments, but thats another story.
