Jarrad Sammut

The try before Sammut was hooked was a Bill Harrigan special. Bill likes to make up his own rules, always has. Sammut was trapped in goal, his progress had been stopped and a tackle had been effected. It should have been a line dropout.

....and then he dropped the ball.

It was a try dude. Your really pushing to blame Hollywood on this one.

He will come back Bart, he is a VERY GOOD PLAYER. Unfortunately there were a few panthers who played injured and tired last night. Their coach did a Smithy and worked them up toooooo high causing the balloon to burst within the first 3 minutes of the game. It was all over after the 1st try. As his body grows stronger (and it will) Sammut will excel as a 7 or a 9 or 14 & even a 6. He is another Paul Taylor in the making..... a small tough and clever kid.

Please Eels Fans, no need to scorn, put down and laugh at opposing players. Show respect for all players in the NRL. It takes a lot of courage to play this game at this level.

What you give out will definitely come bouncing back in the images of your projections and that won't feel good will it being on the losing end of a thrashing down-the-line, particularly in a critical game leading up to the semi finals or even in the finals if not the GF.

Humility, compassion, grace, respect, curtesy are some of the many values (virtues of love) that will make this Eels club great and famous.

Fish Eel :)lol::lol::lol::lol: Yes, but none of the others ponce around the field like Sammut does. What a wanker.), wake up to yourself, give yourself an uppercut!

From a Panthers perspective the situation that lead to Frank Pritchard being benched for such a long time is of more concern.
Do you know what that situation is/was? Or are you simply saying it was mysterious/bad coaching.

When Pritchard ran on towards me with a clean jersey in the second half, I actually thought it was some new bench guy being thrown fresh into the game at quite a late stage. Lewis and Waterhouse were going real good in the back row.

He does have a strong resemblance to Lassie, doesn't he? I like it when he wags his tail in the scrums.

The ball was stripped after the tackle was completed, only the ref had not apparently said so (and why on earth not?). A one on one strip is legal, but a tackle is deemed to be completed when a player's progress has been stopped. The ball does not need to be grounded. Sammut's progress was stopped (ie he had no chance whatsoever of getting into the field of play, he was wrapped up and going nowhere, they were dancing for what seemed like half an hour) well before Burt decided to try to get a try out of it. Burt was at the same time preventing Sammut from being able to ground the football. Burt's a rather bigger bloke than what Sammut is.

Now Parramatta didn't need these 6 points to win, the game was already over at 24-0. I hope in a sudden death match something like this isn't done against them, now that it has been deemed to be OK, and when the 6 points are much more critical.

 Most fullbacks would know to force the ball, or at least allow themselves to be tackled in goal without the risk of a one-on-one strip like that.

The tackle is completed when the ref says so - he could sense that Burt wasn't limply holding Sammut in place to earn the drop-out, there was more at stake - there was movement/wrestling from both players, and the ball or the arm/torso carrying it had not come into contact with the ground.

Fair try. And fair of Elliot to hook Sammut after a woeful and costly performance in all facets of the game.

Well said Bart and you were constructive in your criticism without having to attack the personality and character of the MAN Jarrad Sammut.

And Fish Eel, take a leaf out of Bartman's book.

Lassiest?

Is this picture more appropriate of the way he played??????

Come on Pritchard, you can do so much better with the incredible talent you have. If you can't sort it out and need help, then join the Eels for $50k (just for the 1st season) & DA & PO (and others) will assist you in becoming the best running backrower and defender on Earth within 12 months & you won't be seen as lazy anymore. Geeeeees please don't waste away all that incredible natural talent you have. That's what happened to David Woods, he was a lazy trainer and thus he never fulfilled all his promise. He spent so much time off the field injured. If he had worked very hard on his physical fitness (and the brain) he would have spent much more time on the field than off it leading to being one of the best centers in the world instead of a has-been who wasted away all his opportunities. This doesn't mean David is bad or wrong etc, instead it just means he never fulfilled his dream of being a world-class center or 6.

What about your dreams Frank?

Every dream comes with full-responsibility!!!!!

Follow the lead of Fuifui Moimoi......... he took full-responsibility and look what happened to Fui!!!!

Frankie looked like he was on the Stillnox and Red Bull ... but forgot the Red Bull.

Funny thing was they made huge metres with their dummy half running against us. In some ways they were stronger than some of the sides we have played recently .. but made so many poor errors and their commitment was less than 100%.

Agreed Bigfella....

It just shows the spirit amongst the Panther players and club is broken. Lots of soul searching to be done... but who are the ones going to take full responsibility for this????? So much talent but little cohesion, focus and direction. When the pressure is on the cracks hidden away come glaringly out into the open for all to see.

A new coach would be a good start, their recruitment is terrible as well. They are letting that young winger go and they sign a Plonker like Simmons.

He had a barry, he looks like that Flogballer Akermanis and plays like one too.
Good point, can't play league, would make an excellent Victorian baller.

Surely there is an AFL club with a miilion to spare for a poor athlete.
