Everyone will think he's awesome, til he has an average game, & doesn't score a freak try, then he'll become an over-rated hack who goes missing......

Such is the RL fan.

I totally agree, that has already started in the Parra forum and it f**king sh*ts me!! the same people also said we should get rid of him too at the start of the year.

He's both awesome and overrated. He's talented as hell, but young and relatively inexperienced and inconsistent. What sickens me is the non stop wanking over the bloke...he's human, he makes mistakes and has average games as he did in the final round, and there's nothing wrong with that. But to listen to some you'd think he was the latest incarnation of the Buddha. Let the kid play footy ffs

Agree Bazal

He is a great player. But he is overrated. Not to say he's not good - but he's not as good as everyone is making him out to be - ie comparing him to Johns and other absolute superstars of the game.

He has the POTENTIAL to be one of the greats - but has a long while to go yet. He is on track though

Very good footballer. His try at the end was pretty freaky. He's done well at club level and has also had a few moments of individual skill and brilliance at Origin level.

I still have issues with him feining a bad injury when his team is under the pump, so that the ref's stop play and his team can regroup. I've not seen him pull that stunt against Saints, nor have I seen it in the last half of this season - I hope I never see it again as, in my opinion, it runs against the spirit of fair play - a real cat act.

Big Norm

When did he feign injury to get play stopped?

Are you referring to Bennet's accusation? The one where Hayne stayed down after being tramped underfoot by Big Sam Thaiday - if so, that was one incident where he stayed down after making a tackle, and there's absolutely no reason to think that he wasn't in some way hurt - except that Bennet got his knickers in a knot about it.

He's had more than a few moments of individual skill and brilliance at Origin level too mate. He's been outstanding at that level every time he's played - consistently one of NSW best players every game - and from the wing too.

I agree with Steel Dragon - Hayne is awesome - but if he does it for a couple more years, THEN we should be talking about him as one of the greats.
I do think he's currently the best player in the game though.

Best player ever?
Media will do anything to sell newspapers. Coming out with this crap just creates discussion, pisses off Dragon supporters, and wanks off Eels supporters.
But what else does it achieve?
Nothing.
Does anyone care who the best player in the world is?
Supporters just want their team to win.
The rest is crap.

anyone else sick of the telegraph jumping on the hayne bandwagon?

i know nearly every day there is something in there talking him up.. as far as i could see over the last two weeks, he's done 3 good things - the massive kick on the Friday night game, the line break & his try last weekend.. thats it..

and then today, the telegraph has a whole section on 'the anatomy of jarryd hayne'..

well, looks like they got it wrong.. heres how it should have gone:

lol.

He's having a good year. In past years he was talented but too hot headed. The turning point was when he captained Fiji in the World Cup. Made him realise that it's not all about him.

If he continues on that path he'll do well, but I suspect next year he'll be well marked and the shine of 2009 will pass.

I expect Hayne will be a "great" in a few years time but at the moment he is just the form player of the NRL..

Yes he is a very good player but the media really need to take there hands of their c**ks a bit! We all know he is a good player but do we need to be reminded every day????
