jarryd hayne - awesome or overrated?

anyone else sick of the telegraph jumping on the hayne bandwagon?

i know nearly every day there is something in there talking him up.. as far as i could see over the last two weeks, he's done 3 good things - the massive kick on the Friday night game, the line break & his try last weekend.. thats it..

and then today, the telegraph has a whole section on 'the anatomy of jarryd hayne'..

well, looks like they got it wrong.. heres how it should have gone:

I don't think that Hayne is over rated... he is a really good player.

I think the problem is the media are a bunch of nufties that jump on bandwagons and talk players way way up. They have been doing it since the dawn of time. Remember how they were banging on about Soward earlier this year, Thurston is another of their darlings. They are bullsh*t merchants.

Hayne is overrated as far as I'm concerned. He's a good player, but let's be honest about it, he got the Dally M off his performance in a half dozen or so games out of 26, plus good performances in SOO.

He was made to look even better on Sunday by inept, and quite often non-existent, defence from the Dragons. The media talk him up because he's 'flavour-of-the-month' and we all know that at some stage they'll turn thier attention to someone else and talk them up.

Hayne's recent performances have been worthy of the wankfest the media are throwing him.
Whether or not he's one of the all time greats, or a one season wonder remains to be seen. I heard his mother saying that he's completely changed his life since the trip to Fiji; not going out on the piss with boys etc.
Good luck to him, I hope he keeps it going, it's great to watch.
Just hope he doesn't let the media bandwagon go to his head; they will drop him as soon as the next new great thing comes along and he will be left devastated.
