Was watching NFL insiders last night and they were talking about a merkin who just had his finger amputated and won't be ready for the first game of the season.

They said that he gets paid per game for the Patriots and that every game he misses costs him his game fee of $US900k/game.

Putting shit in perspective, Hayne really is a minnow in the scheme of things.

The Eels are kidding aren't they?
Selling shirts with that number?

f**k off. You don't own Jarryd Hayne.

The number ?!?

Hayne Plane I can understand but technically the number is Parra's.

Hayne is using the number 38 as it was the first number he was given at the Eels. Perhaps they could go after him for using their number for commercial gain in the states :sarcasm:

I'm sure Jarryd will continue to crack down on any wanna be trying to profit from his name but would be surprised if he went after the Club that allowed him to chase his dreams.

i was going to either work from home on Tuesday OR find a seat at work infront of a TV with ESPN on it .... now I just don't know

This is the sort of shit that always made me think he would struggle to get a gig in the NFL - the f**kin yanks attitude .... jarryd can do it merkins - give him a run!

It would make sense for them to exclude him though. He is a rookie and teams would have started planning for him, if they leave him out it certainly leads other teams to maybe not focus on him. The element of surprise and all that stuff.

I hope he plays, I have Gamepass and will be watching it on my iPad at work if he is activated.

Is that the Giants player, Jason Pierre Paul? Blew his finger off on 4th of July with a fire cracker? dumbass!

You are right though, Hayne really is small fry in the scheme of things over there.

Is it true that if a running back fumbles the ball then his career is pretty much over ?

Well, as every RB fumbles the ball every now and then......NO.

But obviously you don't want it happening with any regularity, and it could easily be a big problem for a fringe player who loses possession in their first game.

EDIT: The average fumble rate for teams in 2014 was between about 2-2.5% of rushing plays. Though the Pats (cheats) and Giants had only 1 fumble each on rushing plays during the season.
