Jarryd Hayne Is Awesome

If Hayne maintains his current form through the rest of the year and starts well next year, he should be talked about in the same class as Inglis.

In my opinion, so far in Origin 2009, three players have shown that they are naturally gifted freaks - Inglis, Hayne and Thurston.

ABsolutely, and little more.

The intercept came when the ball was thrown straight to him.

The second try was absolutely No Try. How in the world that was given I'll never know.

Switched to fullback and, as has already been said, absolutely went missing. Apart from when he was throwing balls to Williams that were ridiculous.

She can play off the cuff football and that's about it. Still cannot contribute as a team member. Looked good purely because the rest of the team were sh*t.

Tonight's game did nothing but reinforce my opinion of her.

Are you talking about Jamie Lyon?

Speaking as someone who has always had a deep seeded dislike for all things Parra. Jarryd Hayne is an incredible talent. I would have loved to have seen how he would have performed outside the NSWelshman playing for QLD.

The fact that a winger can be NSW's far and away best player in the first two games is a credit to Hayne's talent and outstanding performance at rep level. Despite not playing in a winning side, he would have to be a contender for rep player of the year at the Dally M's. In 2 games he's scored 3 tries, had another fair one disallowed. A further try assist not to mention a couple of other near misses and some try saving tackles at that. 9 tackles on the wing last night, none missed. He showed desperation like nothing else and proved his committment.

His progress this year has been amazing. Ando claimed that his wasn't fit enough to play fullback. I wonder if Haynes wonderful form can be credited in anyway to the new coach ? I suspect that Ando has had a few frank discussions with him.

I always think that Hayne would be easier to ACTIVATE than INU.

Hayne has that "I want to be the Best" attitude. Yes he may also be disinterested but if DA knows how to get him to show : I AM THE BEST, hayne would do it.

On the other hand, I don't see this in INU. INU is more like, I want to have fun. So if it doesn't go his way. He'll be passive and wait. Hayne would want to show off that he's got it.

Now the question is "How do you fire up INU"?

Would you say to him, look at what Jazz is doing? I think you're better him but I don't see it.

or

DA: Look INU, you delayed your mission (as a mormon) to do this. Other kids are looking up to you but you aren't really showing it. What's the matter?

INU: I don't get good ball. I get cramped out there.

DA: Well go looking for the ball. Go and shout for it. I'll let you roam.

INU: Great !!

I think it has more to do with the halves and lack of space than anything with Inu. Hayne wasn't happy on the wing because he didn't get any ball. He had plenty of ball at 5/8 but no space. Inu is suffering from the same problem - and Tahu did for a time when he was here as well. They need to be getting the ball at speed with room to move. The defensive structures of teams nowdays don't allow for ball movement unless the backline stands extremely deep....

Inu hasn't played that badly. As someone else mentioned in the NSW thread, if Inu got the amount of quality ball that Lyon had from Barrett last night, he'd be well fed and there would be some nice tries on the board.....

Thing is Colonel, Gaz goes and makes his own space.

He goes to the opposite side of the field looping around and somehow gets one on ones with a defender. He's done it many times over and over.

INU has the footwork but he doesn't go looking for it.

But then, maybe he's not allowed to.

A good centre should look for the ball..... most definitely. But, with Hayne, Mortimer and a lesser extent Robson all chasing the ball as well he isn't necessarily going to get a hell of a lot of it no matter how hard he looks. As it is his return against the Tigers was statistically very good.

If our forwards created space the way the Maroons and a lot of other teams do, he would get quality ball from the halves.... as it is he is getting the ballas shown in his last three games in the top grade have seen him avergaing more than 100 metres a game. He just isn't getting the ball in space.

I also feel it's hard for a bloke in poor form (or perceived poor form) and arguably low confidence to go looking for the ball.

FMD - if there is anyone on here who comes close in the "talking sh*t" stakes to Ron, then its you - give him some f'n credit FFS!!! ... you make your own luck - hayne puts himself in the position to take intercepts etc

atleast my talking sh*t has an element of truth to it which has been well-documented.

But but but Burty is a nice bloke and so is Benny..........

F*ck me dead, you need to get over it. You and Ron are sounding more like Pete everyday with your harping on and on and on, it's f**king boring. Find a life.

Well done Jarryd, best you've played in awhile. Hope you can follow it up with a stellar performance on Sundau, we are going to need it

look u lil f**k
wen he was at FB we were playin catch up mode n nsw spent most of their possession inside the qld 20
the halves kept propelliing the ball side to side n the qld def kept eatin it up...they never went lookin for hayne
barrett came up w a decent play in the end to set up williams in the corner
we say hayne through the middle once at fb n was stopped inches away
n if the rest of the team are playin sh*t n he pulls a performance like that u fkn respect him
2 games in a row hes clearly shown up israel folau...not to mention easilyyy beaten slater for pace
if hayne was playin in that qld team he cudve racked up 4 tries in his form
hes only player holdin parra up atm so shut the f**k up
