Any more news?
The NRL are staying tight lipped after the Bret Stewart incident.
Where’s the leadership expressing concern for both the parties.
If I was them you wouldn't hear from me either.

It sounds harsh but he isn't on the NRL books anymore, so there is no need for them to comment, either way I doubt their lawyers would be letting anyone from the NRL or the Eels talk about it.

It'll be complete radio silence from them apart from "I can't comment on that".

yes or no?

how many players have the pigs charged with rape and how many have been convicted?

Brett Stewart
Anthony Laffranchi
Michael Crockett

i'm sure there's more
Does that mean that you believe Hayne (et all) is innocent then?

I know you're a troll, but taking the side of the accused rapist is a bit much, there are better ways of getting attention.

The conviction rate on sexual assault charges is below 50%, regardless of whether you are an NRL player or not.

Everyone involved has a tough, and unenviable job to do.

and so far it's been not guilty or charges dropped every time

they are more incompetent than NRL referees

I hope one day your car gets stolen, or your house gets broken in to, and you call the cops for help and they tell you piss off...

It's ironic for me that the two most sensible people here are my old sparring partners. @ash411 and @Dibs.

Well played Gentlemen. I was truly wrong about you guys.

Apologies.

You have every right to call bullshit. That's your opinion. I'm just stating mine. Yes, I am concerned about anyone who has to go through this situation, and their mental welfare. Haynes case is different to every day Joe Blow's because it is being played out in a very public way. I'm also just as concerned about the welfare of the alleged victim(s).

I haven't seen one post from anyone that suggests otherwise. He should and will be dealt by the law like everyone else.

Well you should read your own posts because you are the one who thinks he should be bailed

No apology necessary. I am a shit stirrer most of the time, you can’t be held responsible for making a judgment on someone who is deliberately being an ass

@eels_fan You realise that he wants you to engage him, right? He's like the bad kid in school that sits in the back of class yelling and carrying on.

They don't know the difference between good and bad attention, they just want attention so bad that they don't care that it gives them a bad reputation in the process.

No one should be taking the side of anyone. Think about what happened in the Brett Kauvangah case before you want to stick your fingers into wounds, I'd be really careful if I were some of you guys. This is a place to discuss football, not a witch hunting discussion forum. There is no need to be hysterical like the media etc wants you to be. Imagine if this happened to you or your son with someone they had sex with in the past if you didn't do it and you randomly get a warrant for your arrest out of the blue. Imagine if it was your daughter who had this happen to her and it was actually something legitimate. It's easy to act like you have balls of steel when it's not the rest of YOUR life on the line. Suitman has a good point about mental health, it would actually be distressing for everyone involved no matter the outcome as even if this played out privately with those intimately around you I'm sure none of you would be as tough as you are talking.

I am just sad for Hayne whatever the outcome, I'm sure many of you grew up with him as hero #1 and you really could never see this in his character. It's shattering regardless.
OK firstly, haven't really said anything about his guilt or innocence, he is innocent until proven guilty.

Now that that's out of the way...

I am just sad for Hayne whatever the outcome, I'm sure many of you grew up with him as hero #1. It's shattering regardless.
Whatever the outcome? Let's assume he is guilty, you're gonna feel sad for the poor rapist are you?

If it all turns out to be bogus, then I share your feeling bad for him getting dragged through the mud. But if he did do it, to whatever degree, then he deserves the worst of it.

I don't care who's hero he was, there's no excusing it. end of story.

Cops don’t convict anyone, dipshit.
Have you any f**king clue how the legal system works? You reckon a cop just happened to walk by and saw any of the people you named in a potentially illegal act?
