No one should be taking the side of anyone. Think about what happened in the Brett Kauvangah case before you want to stick your fingers into wounds, I'd be really careful if I were some of you guys. This is a place to discuss football, not a witch hunting discussion forum. There is no need to be hysterical like the media etc wants you to be. Imagine if this happened to you or your son with someone they had sex with in the past if you didn't do it and you randomly get a warrant for your arrest out of the blue. Imagine if it was your daughter who had this happen to her and it was actually something legitimate. It's easy to act like you have balls of steel when it's not the rest of YOUR life on the line. Suitman has a good point about mental health, it would actually be distressing for everyone involved no matter the outcome as even if this played out privately with those intimately around you I'm sure none of you would be as tough as you are talking.
I am just sad for Hayne whatever the outcome, I'm sure many of you grew up with him as hero #1 and you really could never see this in his character. It's shattering regardless.
OK firstly, haven't really said anything about his guilt or innocence, he is innocent until proven guilty.
Now that that's out of the way...
I am just sad for Hayne whatever the outcome, I'm sure many of you grew up with him as hero #1. It's shattering regardless.
Whatever the outcome? Let's assume he is guilty, you're gonna feel sad for the poor rapist are you?
If it all turns out to be bogus, then I share your feeling bad for him getting dragged through the mud. But if he did do it, to whatever degree, then he deserves the worst of it.
I don't care who's hero he was, there's no excusing it. end of story.
