I'm pretty much thinking we are where we were with Hayne before.

We have a number, he has a number, and those numbers aren't quite close enough at this stage.

Just no one wants to come out and say as much from either camp, so we get this dancing around the issue with other shit.
Assuming we have something left in the cap this year without any of the other oxygen thieves leaving why can’t we offer him $400k this year and $800k in 2020 assuming we want him for 2 years.

Can’t see the following being with us in 2020:

M Jennings
Moses
Norman
Taka
Mannah
Mau

I take your point Ivor and fullback may well be an issue for us next year. Moving a guy who proved in 2019 that he could provide exactly what we lacked this year would be a mistake in my opinion. We needed to strengthen wing and we did that with Fergo.
Im also concerned that our coaching staff can never seem to make up their mind and swap players around, I believe, to the detriment of the players.
I think moving Fergo from the wing would be a big mistake. I also agree if Hayne were to stay I'd play him on the other wing. This being the case, French would be my preferred fullback.
Cheers.

I understand your point about Ferguson, but I seriously think French is a flashy, lightning-fast dud.

Jarryd might also be discovering that negotiating a contract when there is public knowledge of involvement in an unresolved court case means that bidders apply a bit of a discount.

Sure we could.

I guess the question is do we want to sign him for that long and for that much?

I don't really think it's a cap issue in the sense of how much we have left, more so it's how much of our cap we want to use to pay him.

I've walked on a deal with money in my pocket sayin' that's all I've got to spend, I'm sure you probably have as well

If we had a decent alternative to play fullback I’d be happy to let Jarryd walk. As it stands though, I don’t see French as a first grade fullback and Gutho is a centre so we’re basically out of options IMO in a critical position within the roster.

Gronk, not saying they shouldn't have signed anyone. The real question is why is the roster positioned that way, it's the job of the CEO to get things done .

Outside of people on here, there is a real issue with the general fans who can't understand why JH isn't signed. Under Bernie we get no guidance except poor news. He has had 2 years to assist in getting things in shape, if he continues to say he wants JH, then why wasn't that part of shaping the cap and roster. He has disappointed across a number of fronts, without Uncle Nick he is a little weaker in performance than expcted.
Did Bernie lay a cable in your cornflakes?

I agree he's a muppet but you don't seem to post about anything other than how shit he is.

We’ve got Moses, Norman and mennings playing like park footballers, all on big back ended deals.
They aren't 'big back ended' and no-one complained when they were signed. The problem is that they aren't performing. At the time they were signed, the majority of people thought they were good signings.

Hindsight genuises like to pretend they know better but they don't know shit.

Why do you think BA is happy to move on anyone of those?? You think money freed up from any of those 3 will be used to sign Hayne or another quality player?
Because they haven't been performing. The potential and form that showed when they were signed hasn't continued.

Amazing how nut huggers (not calling you that) turn a blind eye to what BA is attempting to do, but once someone tries explaining it, the forum goes into meltdown.
No-one is turning a blind eye to anything.

If you think that you are some wise soothsayer who is wrongly criticised then you are pulling your penis. People disagree with you on issues because they have different points of view.

Mate, think you need to lay down, and hug a nut.
