I am happy to see him fire up and show some real emotion. :D Great stuff especially against Billy Slater who IMO is one of the biggest cats in the game (though he can play footy very well). Nice one Jarryd.

That`s the best game Jarryd has ever played for us. I particularly loved the contest between him and Slater. You don`t often see fullback against fullback all game like that. It was brilliant! Slater, in my opinion has been the best fullback in the land for a number of years, but Jarryd certainly got the points last night. A very fine fullback game. He`s definitely not a winger anymore!

Hayne's desperation in his attacking defence (kick chases mostly) was outstanding. Put massive pressure on Slater and cut him down on numerous occassions.

His kick returns continue to get stronger and faster and he is threatening to break the line more often than not. What is there not to love about those complete sort of efforts?

This could be the suspension that makes our team. Seeing the passion the boys showed out there last night, if they can play like that come finals time then nobody can beat them. Loved it.

Agreed, and Storm weren't playing bad either. Jarryd bled for the Eels last night as did all the players. Stuff SOO, what happened last night was the game that mattered to the boys. SOO should not even come into the picture and that is what we all saw last night.:clap:The Eels started a wave and we all caught it and it was an exhilarating ride to the very end. Wayne Bennett knew the Eels were more focused on last nights game than on his team last week. He knows the Eels squad is the team to beat this year as do the other coaches. The standard was set last night. Jarryd Hayne has come of age. That head butt knocked the king of fullbacks from his thrown. Jarryd has taken the crown. Jarryd was Wally Lewis like last night, he is a 6 in a 1 jumper. Go the mighty Eels.... Premiers 2007, 2009, 2010.:lol:

Hayne was awesome - showed some genuine passion and leadership last night.

And with these images he's shown he knows how to send out a message:

It was a dumb thing to do, but it showed that it's not so hard to rattle Slater. Slater couldn't help but retaliate at the next opportunity. I actually thought Billy was going to kick him when he was on the ground.

I've heard differently, Twiz. Heard HaHa was close to being sent last night and that he and Slater will both get done.

I remember about 8 years ago, Lote Tuqiri was suspended for 1 week the week before Origin. Now they came up with this stupid ruling where the game before Origin (the game which he was required to miss anyway) would serve as his suspension, and he was free to play Origin. So it ended up he wasn't suspended at all.

But for State of Origin, a game is far more valuable than a club game, so they better use some common sense and let our best players put on the greatest spectacle they can.

They're now saying on 2UE they expect him to plead not guilty and plead his case to the judiciary, as he has no carry over points.... however, Slater has some points for leading with the feet for the Folau try.
