Jason Bulgarelli: A journey

My main point Bay is until we know the full story, Boogs should be afforded the same rights as everyone else, that is the presumption of innocence, regardless of what we think of him as a player.

I'm not sure what's happening with the club but maybe there is an attitude problem that existed under the Meninga era and the club is trying to flush out the ones who think they are bigger than the club.

I'd sure love to know what's going on inside the club right about now.

gerry, are you suggesting that the club should be powerless to sack players until police investigations are concluded? we all know that some of these cases drag on for months. should they be forced to just sit idly by? if the club had a good faith basis for sacking him, and were convinced that their decision was legally sound, then I'm in agreement with the club.

jed how do you know that is the case.

as highlighted above. IF

jed, according to management the reason for jason's sacking was because he was linked to this drug package. the police had no reason to believe that jason was linked to the package, however the investigation will be ongoing. So does this mean if we dislike a player we could send a package full of drugs to the player, care of the club and they will be automatically sacked? Of course a proper investigation needs to be undertaken before you terminate someone's employment. Do you recall what happened with the Bulldogs rape allegations? All the players involved were still playing, still getting paid even though they had been accused of something very serious. That is fair game.

As for the club believing that their decision was legally sound, I suggest they look at sacking their legal advisor.

same sentiments here jed ... I just get the impression you are convinced ... you replied to geraldo with a conclussion of "dickhead" ... as I stated before what does that make you if his comments do bear some semblance to the truth.

I believe that my club would not rush into a decision lightly. Remember also that the incident is not said to have recently occured, rather the club has had many weeks to come to it's conclusion.

My comment of "dickhead" has no bearing on me if any of what geraldo says has come true. Already he has made some totally unsubstantiated claims, and he has said nothing to make me alter my opinion of him.

There are definitely heirarchy problems within the club that has segregated the team. With all the problems the Bulldogs went through you never saw their own club turning against them. That's a sign of a strong team. This latest episode from the Raiders will not send a good message to the young Canberra players of the future. It shows that they are quite happy to drag someone's name through the media, even after he had made several sacrifices for the club over the past 2 years. The club tried to get Jason to exit out of his contract and they have been trying to do so over the past 2 months. That is what they have been working on over the past 2 months, not getting to the bottom of this so called parcel incident. I think we'll find out soon enough that there is absolutely nothing to investigate in terms of the parcel, if the police don't have anything as yet they never will.

Just saw on sports tonight that he's already been reinstated!!!

Butterfield was on ST and it was said he planned to have a chat to the club tomorrow about the whole termination process. However he categorically stated that it was perfectly clear the Raiders HAD terminated Bulgarellia and there was NO mention of Bulgarelli being reinstated. The club would look like bigger fools to do so now.

This "geraldo" roll-your-own-o is just a crackpot with nothing to do.
