LeagueFanNumeroUno said:Jason Cayless is a brilliant prop. Roosters turned him from a Premier League benchie destined to live in his brothers shadows into a brilliant allround prop in both defence & go forward. He is a tough customer, nearly 110 KG, can put on big hits when required (RD 1 vs Souths - Cayless v Scott Logan, Clash Of The Titans), & to all Parra fans who continue to d--kride all their players, saying they are the perfect team, Jason Cayless is a MUCH better player than his brother, who is a good leader but nothing more than solid prop/backrower.
Nah, just saying some people might go for the money, but will also put in the effort on the field each week. I think and hope Jason will be one of those type of players... not one that just banks the paycheck and sometimes goes missing when most needed (Stephen Kearney?).ParraDude_Jay said:Because he went for the opportunity?
ParraDude_Jay said:He'd also be ours if you scummy Roosters didn't jump in and throw the good bucks at him. You didn't make him, he was always going to be a great player but the Roosters just threw the dollars at him at a young age, as usual.
He wasn't a premier league benchie either, he was a first grade benchie with us who could not crack the 17 consistently during 2001 because we had the best side in Rugby League that year. But don't let the truth get in the way of a good story.

In my opinion he's the best prop in the game, but he's there for the wrong reasons so don't expect too much.
LeagueFanNumeroUno said:ParraDude_Jay...when i was saying about Parra fans who overrate their own players, i wasn't directing it at you, because we share the common opinion that big JC is the best prop in the NRL (or was :s). He was good with Parra, but Ricky's fitness regime turned him into a genuine star. Knights had Anthony Tupou, & all their fans claim they made him, but he was a Flegg player who tipped in at about 130 KG, & had absolutely ZERO mobility. Ricky's fitness regime turned him into a genuine tackle-busting forward with great ball skills, and i believe he is a genuine international prospect in years to come. I don't agree with everything Ricky does (the Crocker-Wing hookiing combo worked yet Ricky still discarded of it, playing Tupou at prop instead of as a wide-running backrower, not giving the Paea's enough chances, keeping Finch in FG & leaving Soward in PL), but he is a fitness freak, which helped s be the best defensive unit in the competition 2002-2004.
No beef man, i don't want to start a fight or anything, i actually liked Parra this year, Fuifui is a dead set champion, & i found a liking to your Premier League team, who were VERY impressive in their Grand Final.
ParraDude_Jay said:I'm not starting a fight mate, but I think the Roosters claim too much. Jason was always going to be great, he just needed time and unfortunately there were too many clubs interested in him for Parramatta to compete. Plus we had N Cayless and Vella who were the best front row all year.
The Roosters just developed his mobility and helped him get a bit fitter, but that isn't 100% of why he's so great, because even without it he'd still be a very damaging player.
I just disagree you turned him from a premier league benchie (which he never was) into a superstar, he was always going to be a superstar, the Roosters just helped him along. And that's why I'm mad you're letting him leave, whatever Finch is being paid should have been offered to Jason on top of their final offer to him because he's worth every cent. Very silly mistake on their part.
