Did you read what he said? He said they might limit the number of options that come up at the same time.
The quote was "...limiting the number of player options – particularly the number of player options that come up at the same time..."

Did you understand what Jim means by that though? That future player options are clearly on the nose at the Eels.
He didn’t say they would stop using them. You just keep making shit up. You previously claimed Ryles said it ffs
And here's your Ryles quotes on the matter:

Been around for a long time and the 2 standouts from junior reps were Jamie Lyon and Tim Smith, daylight behind them.
Dylan Brown was possibly next best coming through from 15/16 years old.

From our own junior clubs, probably Michael Buettner was good and above the pack.from the U11s to first grade
TBH seeing Tim Smith's debut year with the most TA's since Jesus's wore 7 for Bethlehem and then we had the debut season of Bevan. How many tries did he score ? None were better in my eyes and none have failed to back it up so catastrophically in the NRL.

Still remember what Tim Smith said to Andrew Johns. Classic.

We've won three preliminary finals since then ffs. Get excited.
But we have lost more prelims then we have won ffs.

We have exacted revenge though ironically against 3 of those 4 teams we have lost a prelim against since 1986 at least.

Brisbane - 2001 (Lost in 2000)
Canterbury - 2009 (Lost in 1998)
North Qld - 2022 (Lost in 2005)

Melbourne remains a hurdle were yet to conquer (1999, 2007)

Actually , Jarryd Hayne was the best junior coming through since the 80s, he was so good and above anyone else. The issue is , in the last 10/15 years, we have had some decent juniors but hardly developed any of them, is that due to favouring seasoned journeymen.
Storm for instance, recognise traits in players and take time to bring them through, we now have some decent younger players, let’s give them a shot.

What was the real story behind his debut Delboy ? Jason Taylor's first match as coach in Round 11 2006 was Jarryd Hayne's first grade debut and before that Brian Smith would not pick him and when questioned famously mumbled something about "you'll have to ask ... about that"

Not entirely sure, but from what I know, Smith said it wasn’t right to debut an 18 year old into a struggling team. That was despite Hayne handling reserve grade,Taylor just did what everyone called for. Think we know what was the correct decision now.

Unfortunately from that point don’t seem to have handled him well with those that came after JT, an utter waste of an unbelievable athlete.

My hunch is Smith & Hayne had a personality clash. We know Brian didnt get on well with what i would call Alpha-type players. Tallis is one to comes to mind weather you like or loathe him he was one. Jarryd probably saw himself as one from a young age.

Looking back 2006 was such a wasted season.

In hindsight Fitzy should have just punted Smith when he decided he wouldn't extend him after the 2005 Prelim disaster
