Who is to say the Raiders wont finish above the Cowboys this year even?

Don't worry dude, It's just that Ink's a lil bitch who tries his hardest to raise the ire of Raiders fans every chance he gets...even now with his team's season over, he's still talkin sh*t.

Sad thing is....he's a magpies fan. He aint really got sh*t to do with the Raiders/Tigers 89 rivalry thing.

well this year he has played 14 games of a possible 19, and has played 33, of a possible 43. so in 2 seasons so far he has missed 10 games, if he plays the last 5 games that will be 38/48 played, and 19 a season. that isnt bad for a 40 year old,

Give the guy a break he's not 40 yet

He's 34.

No, most Raiders fans feel the same way.

Don't get me wrong, every single Raiders fan appreciates what he's done for our club, he was mainly brought in to help teach our young halves who are coming through the system, and he's done that and more. He's been a revelation coming back to the NRL.

But it's time for the Raiders to move on, we have to build for the future. Next year without Smith will undoubtedly be less successful than this year, but we can't keep re-signing him for a year or two as a rental player, considering his age. We need to build for the future now, and even if that means a lean year or two ahead whilst the Carney's, Zillman's and Dobson's adjust to first grade, then so be it, but it's the best long-term move. That's why we didn't even offer him a contract.

I wish him all the best at the Cowboys, he'll do an awesome job up there.

agree completely with IBG

he will go very well for the cowboys i rcvekon but he has done all he can for the raiders... especially last year.

we got a bloke coming back from being loaned to the esl who is a good footballer in dobson... carney is really starting to show his potential and we got william zillman who has done unbelievable stuff in PL (still needs to step up to FG i understand this).

We would all definatley be thanking jason smith for what he has done here and wishing him all the best at the cows.

i just wished we had kept schif though :( that is the one that will hurt us next year i reckon.

spot on, we all love smithy for what he has done for us over the past 2 years but its time for us to make a move for the future, smithy sadly isnt in those plans. As souls said, losing schif will hurt us more then Smithy.

I wish smithy all the best at the cowboys. I recon they will be GFists next year with smithy and thurston running the show
