When I saw that about Karmichael Hunt, this was the first thing that came to mind:

And yet the News LTD papers still turn it into a rugby league story naming all of the incidents of league players that have a similar past and no mention of any AFL or Union indiscretions.

That would be because the last five pro and ex-pro sportsman to be charged with drug offences in this country are linked to the NRL and are all based in the "heartland" of the game where NRL news is consumed in much greater volume. It would also be because NRL is popular with the majority of the News LTD rags. And it would also be because of the three people charged last night, two of them are current NRL players.

Hunt is the biggest name but only one person in this story and the only person linked to another sport in any way (that we currently know of). So yeah, it's pretty straight forward that this impacts the NRL more than any other sport.

And expect it to get worse before it gets better.

24 yr olds ( Born in 1990 or early 1991)= Kalifa Fai Fai Loa, Mark Ioane, Matt Srama,
27 yr olds born in 1987 or early 88 = Anthony Don, Beau Falloon,

Doesn?t leave many options for either player so I assume we will all find out soon

take into account the Titans are currently in Cairns so it probably rules out and player there unless they only left this morning

As much as we all want the ARU and AFL to wear this the NRL will take the brunt of it in the media. Rugby punts him and they are clean, AFL says they had no idea, we purchased a broken product and they are clean(albeit a little less than the ARU) League on the other hand has supplied the dealers and the customers for these alleged drug deals, we are gonna get hammered even wihout knowing about it the shit is gonna fall on Rugby league.

Fingers crossed they are done with league players, but considering who the dealers are I wouldnt be suprised if there were some nervous NRL players out there.

Nah he is just dumb. I doubt he was selling it at all, seems like he was just buying some for himself and his mates. You dont need to selling it or trying to make money from it to be charged with supplying, if he gave it away for free that is still 'supplying'.
