It's almost as if he went out there last night to deliberately reinforce all the criticisms we were making of him this week.

Even without the sin bin that was an incredibly foolish penalty to give away - we were 6 down, it was the 4th tackle, I think, and they were in our half. And as if that isn't bad enough, when he comes back on he tries to start a fight while we are in possession and staging a comeback.

It really illustrates what is wrong with the bloke: he is way more interested in having the spotlight on him and people thinking he is a tough guy than having his team actually win the game.

The silver lining is that he did this just before we were possibly about to re-sign him. I will therefore happily accept this loss if it means the Warriors withdraw the offer and he never plays for us again.

I actually didn’t mind that he started up that push and shove. We were on our 3rd bout 5m’s from our own line and getting towelled up. Pompey wore that crusher and thought was a bit of gamesmanship from Jazz and making sure the red saw it and giving us a breather. Don’t get me wrong as he’s a f**king clown and not up there to be in the 17. Hopefully not resigned

I don't want Jazz as our enforcer!

I would be happy if Jazz never played another game for the Warriors, cost us last night's game, and will continue to lose us games if he is kept in the team, do not re-sign him.

I've seen those binned before.

In any event, under normal circumstances we might call it tough. But in the midst of a crackdown, where the refs are sin-bin happy, this meathead decides it might be a good time to put on a late-as-hell, random shot.

Idiot.

It was a sure fire sin-bin. It was stupid. It cost us dearly.

Jazz has pros & cons.

The cons outweigh the pros imo.

The new deal we have offered him is very much in the Papali'i range - take it or leave it. Hoefully he leaves it.

I'd like to see him 'move on' over the bye weekend.

Yeah that was the rare occasion where it was actually kinda smart to start a scrap

And just to keep being contrarian...

I still think Jazz is one of our more effective forwards at making good metres (sometimes with a slow PTB in fairness), half breaks, and offloads.

Unfortunately the debate about his effectiveness has been usurped by the debate about whether his penalties and errors are worth it, and the answer is clear

I don't think you are being contrary. Everybody can see that the tempo lifts when Jazz comes on and he makes good meters and is usually pretty good on defence. What good is it though if he is going to cost us games and gift the opposition field position at crucial moments?

If only he would not try to be a playmaker and not give away stupid penalties than he would be a definite asset to the team. The problem is he seems mentally incapable of doing that or even really understanding why he should. He must have been told a million times to cool it.

We had the penalty anyway and if it had of escalated to punches he would have been off again. At any rate, right now the refs are capable of anything so the smart thing to do is keep your head down until this crackdown blows over.

100%, I said ‘contrarian’ because there are a number of posters on this forum who also deny that Jazz has those good points that seem obvious to you and me

Fair, tbh I was watching without sound so all I saw was Pompey stayed down but I wasn’t sure if the whistle had already gone

Genuine question - when has it been successful in letting a player go?
Fairly broad question
But doesnt Tevaga have some qualities? Enough to stick with and coach out his bad qualities?

We all know how long the list of players is that have been let go, to only prosper elsewhere. Just look at the number of players playing this weekend. Even Taane Milne. Only one game for the Warriors and look at his performance last night. Hes starting in a Wayne Bennett coached team.

So long and short, isnt this more an organisational/coaching issue than a player issue?
Are we really getting the best/coaching out the best qualities in the players?
We give them limited time and then burn them.

I would stick with Tevaga, and CHT - but they need to be properly coached.

We don't have a good record of developing players. They seem to leave and then grow a leg.
I think our coaching staff have to take a large part of the blame.

how long do you give him to sort his shit out? Hes been playing since 2016 for us. Surely thats enough time to coach him.... Different story with CHT. Its only his second season.
