Actually I hate parra too, not the team or the players. Just the area. It seems to have a very high proportion of dead beats. It doesn't have much going for it, and it's a pretty scummy area in general.

I remember the jersey flegg all in brawl in 05 I think which was pretty vicious, we had the Taia brothers, Oake, Weller I think they also had a handy side..the fight went for several minutes and 3 or 4 players sent off from memory.

this would be around the time that Bert coached them ?

no wonder they hate us

Are you describing Parra or Manly? Sounds like a brief description of the best parts of Manly to me. (Especially around The Stain, sorry Steyne)

Haha me too. Now we find out that our mates actually hate us. Real nice.

Now you know how Americans feel when they come all the way here and find out Aussies hate them too.

but now I have some respect for him coming out and saying something other then the stereo typical boring sh*te that players usually say before they play a team. I hope he keeps it up next time when he is playing us too.

I agree.

Players get criticised for talking sh*t in the media and firing the opposition up but it's a lot more entertaining for the fans than the media managed bullsh*t most current players dribble:

"Well I think the Knights were unlucky to lose 40-0 last week and I actually thought they were the better team. They're a quality side with some great players and we're certainly not going to take them lightly."

The funniest though are the super high-profile players that happen to also be dumb as dogsh*t. Whenever they open their mouths on camera you can literally hear tens of thousands of dollars worth of media training pouring out of their mouths - mispronunciations and all. A perfect example is Harry Kewell. 'Dense Harry' has been so marketable throughout his career that's he always been a media spokesman at every club he's played at. To that end his clubs have invested a lot of money in training him to deal with the media but he's just so f**king thick that he makes no sense.

Trent Barrett was another one, as was Matt Bowen up in Townsville.

Exactly, most footy players definitely aren't scholars or wordsmiths, that's for sure.

I grew up about 2 minutes drive from where Jennings grew up, I played in the junior competition next to where he lived. I did some work for a couple of months in junior development in the Penrith catchment area which was virtually run by the Panthers junior development program. I dont know anything about this "hating Parra" attitude that Jennings was "taught".

In fact, both clubs get along really well with each other in the lower grades. The West Sydney Academy is a great thing that both clubs are involved with (plus the Tigers)
