I thought i would mozie on down to good ol' henson park with the folks to watch the prem league play !
And what a game it was !!! A hard fought win by the jets with mistakes and MAJOR defensive errors letting us down ! The game could have been won in the end with a log cut out pass reaching George rose in the centers !!! yes i did say centers, he decided to take the line himself rather than pass to an open hegarty. The rest as they say is history.
I will start by saying...........HEGARTY IS A MAJOR DEFENSIVE LIABILITY !!!!!!! John sinisa had a field day against hegarty bagging the bluebags 3 tries all on hegartys wing !!
the game started well for the jets scoring first, then the roosters shot away to a 10 point lead at the break, come on and score another then the jets kicked into gear their 2nd try just before the break was again due to hegarty going up for the intercept, only to watch the ball glide over his head like a thai airways 747 jumbo ! (it was the 2:50 flight comming in to sydney !) their 3rd try was again due to hegarty fumbling the ball 3 or 4 meters out for Sinisa to pick up and score his 3rd for the day.
On to our boys...... Well i said what i had to say about hegarty now for the rest.
ben hannat, george rose and micky paea were strong in the front with blig hits, but for them, like with most of the side, ball security was a problem. Fullback aiden kirk was felled midway through the first half and left the field replaced by willie bishop. Rovelli scored a nice induvidual try and albert hopoate also scored another . Todd byrne had a 50/50 game, took a huge bomb under pressure and made a huge break from it only to be mowed down, dod drop some ball, but nothing in a dangerous position.
Henderson was hitting them like a man possesed ! like those small fireworks you think won't be too noisy then they absolutly blow your ear drums out !
So man of the match for the jets today was hegarty !
